The only thing unfunnier than HBO’s Girls and Lena Dunham is this Saturday Night Live spoof:
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

That skit was painful to watchful. But, then again, so was the first ten minutes, of “Girls” Ep 1.
They were good impressions at least. They were the only thing in that sketch that came close to lampooning the absurdity of the HBO show. What’s up with SNL anyway. Why is the writing always so bad?
It wasn’t that bad. Some of the mannerisms are spot on. Also has Vanessa Bayer lost a ton of weight? Looking good.
I did not notice a lot of weight loss on her.
The writing on SNL was horrendous from beginning to end. The show was unwatchable.
Yet…you watched the entire thing.
I actually thought that was funny as hell, one of the best SNL parodies in years….
Actually that was pretty funny.
actually it was quite funny.
I hate Girls, but I thought this was pretty funny. Loved the Lena impression from the new girl.
Still funnier than Girls
Way better than girls. GIRLS sucks.
This was the only funny thing about last night’s show. Could not believe how inferior every other skit was. Wow.
Tina fey should have wrote her own skits. Oh shit she did. No Sarah Palin, no nipple jokes, no im really better then Julia l Dreyfus. Miley Cyrus better twerk next week or I will watch a
I too was mystified that the skits mostly fell flat…This was Tina! It was supposed to be hilarious! What happened?
I thought this was pretty damn funny…
Brilliant takedown of hipsters!
That was actually very funny.
I’ve never seen GIRLS so I don’t know how accurate this is, but it was funny once Tina’s character showed up.
What WAS great was the opening when SNL skewered Obamafail, I mean Obamacare!
It’s a bad law. Pelosi probably still hasn’t read it.
It’s not “affordable” for our country.
Obama keeps spending and spending and he’s not bringing any more money to the table, except from our wallets.
I need my money to pay my bills. Stop picking my pocket!
I don’t know, I thought it was wry social comment (like very early S.N.L.) that cut in a number of different directions. Was not aware that “Girls” is a comedy per se which seems to be implicit to most of the criticisms here. Superficially it’s, you know, “Sex and Williamsburg” or “Sex and Greenpoint” or wherever that is – but the pathos is recognizable and real – although I’ve only seen the first season. I think often of Lily Tomlin’s television special(s?) (I know Lorne Michaels worked on at least one of them – I think there were two) when I see stuff like this. “Kids in the Hall” could often be like this – amusing but also thought-provoking.
I actually enjoyed that skit, but I know we’re not supposed to say this on deadline – so instead I’ll just wish rat poison on everyone involved in this segment – I mean, even the accounting assistant.
Way, way funnier than the real show! Blerta completely upstaged the silly, self-absorbed real characters, who were parodied dead on! Kudoes
I love this sketch. Laugh out loud funny.
I found it very funny!!
How was this unfunny, Nikki? It was spot-on, impression-wise. Finally, a decent parody.
False. Super funny! Only Marnie weak link…LD spot on!
I thought it was very funny. The rest of the show. Not so much. Actually the show sucked but this sketch was laugh out loud funny!
Girls is an awful show, just awful but the sketch had me in stitches laughing at it,top marks all round.
I thought that was pretty damn funny. It nailed the show, the characters – and Tina Fey’s character? LOL
