Beau Garrett (Tron) is set to co-star in Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce, Bravo’s scripted pilot from Marti Noxon and UCP. Based on the book series by Vicki Iovine, it follows Abby (Lisa Edelsein), the famous author of a best-selling self-help book series who is hiding the fact that she’s separated from her husband as she starts to navigate her life as a single woman in her early 40s in Los Angeles. She finds herself seeking advice from her divorced friends, including Phoebe (Garrett), instead of her married ones. Phoebe is a former model and recent divorcee that is still close to her ex. Garrett is with Paradigm, KLWGN Entertainment and Jason Hendler.
Ashley Madekwe, who just wrapped a two-year stint on ABC’s Revenge, has been cast in Salem, WGN America’s first scripted series, from Brannon Braga, Adam Simon and Fox21. Set in the volatile world of 17th century Massachusetts, it explores what really fueled the town’s infamous witch trials. Madekwe, repped by Silver Lining Entertainment, Gersh and UK’s Gordon & French, will play Tituba, Salem’s most powerful witch Mary Sibley’s exotic and mysterious right hand and helper who hasn’t aged in the ten years she has been apart from her master.
ABC Family has closed a deal with Jennie Garth to join former Beverly Hills 90210 co-star Tori Spelling in the network’s comedy pilot, Mystery Girls. Both Spelling and Garth will also serve as executive producers. The project follows a former starlet (Spelling) who is roped into solving crimes with her former mystery TV show costar (Garth) when a witness to a crime will only speak to the infamous ‘Mystery Girls,’ which was the highest rated program of the 90’s. The pilot was written by Shepard Boucher from a story by him and Spelling.
