EXCLUSIVE: Neal Baer has signed a new two-year overall deal with CBS Television Studios. The early renewal will keep him and his Baer Bones production company at the studio through 2016. Baer will continue as executive producer/showrunner on CBS Studios’ CBS series Under The Dome while also developing new projects. He has sold drama The Three Behrs to CBS, with another sale pending. Written/executive produced by Baer and Dan Truly, The Three Behrs centers on three doctors, all strangers to each other, who are brought together at a prominent NYC hospital and learn that they’re brothers. Their recently deceased father was the legendary Chief of the hospital and posthumously wants his children to take it over and continue his legacy. This marks a return to the medical drama beat for Baer, a practicing pediatrician, who started on ER where he spent seven seasons, rising from a staff writer to executive producer. On NBC/WBTV’s ER, he also first worked with CBS’ Les Moonves and Nina Tassler and CBS TV Studios president David Stapf, who were all at Warner Bros. TV at the time. Baer, repped by Paradigm and Michael Gendler, also served as executive producer/showrunner on veteran NBC procedural Law & Order: SVU and CBS medical drama A Gifted Man before boarding Under The Dome. “I’m thrilled to be staying at CBS and the wonderful team at Under The Dome, Baer said. In its first season, Under The Dome averaged over 16 million viewers weekly across live TV, DVR playback, VOD and online streaming and was the most watched summer series on U.S. television since 2005. The series, co-produced by Amblin TV, is being licensed in more than 200 territories around the world. Truly is with Paradigm.
