Nia Long has joined WEtv’s first original scripted series The Divide. The legal thriller centers on District Attorney Adam Page (Damon Gupton), who uncovers new evidence that prompts the re-investigation of a sensational murder case. Long will play Billie Page, the DA’s hard-charging wife. Production is underway in Toronto. Long, repped by Resolution, Intellectual Artists Management and Neil Meyer, recently co-starred in Universal’s sequel The Best Man Holiday and on Showtime’s House Of Lies.
Homeland’s Shaun Toub has been cast as a series regular in the NBC pilot Tin Man, a futuristic thriller drama from feature writer Ehren Kruger. Set in the near future, it centers on a robot (Patrick Heusinger) accused of first-degree murder who may hold the key to the future of human evolution, and the female public defender forced to fight for his cause. Toub, repped by Abrams Artists Agency, will play David Dashiell, the CFO for Valence, a multitrillion-dollar corporation that designs and sells cutting-edge robots.
Olga Merediz has booked a series regular role on the George Lopez-starring FX series Saint George, the 10-90 family sitcom from Lionsgate TV and Debmar-Mercury. She will play Lopez’s mother Alma, who is feisty, combative and domineering with an acerbic wit. Merediz, who starred in the Broadway musical In The Heights for the show’s entire run and earned a Tony nomination for it, was recently seen in the feature Place Beyond The Pines. She is repped by Hartig Hilepo Agency and Cyd LeVin & Associates.
