berlinaleofficialposterThe Berlin Film Festival‘s 44th Berlinale Forum program includes films that demonstrate “merciless working environments and the absurdities of the cultural establishment,” say organizers. The section has films from every continent with 28 world premieres and eight international premieres. Among the higher-profile titles are Australian director/cinematographer Warwick Thornton’s The Darkside; The Kidnapping Of Michel Houellebecq from France’s Guillaume Nicloux; Romanian director Corneliu Porumboiu’s soccer drama Al Doilea Joc (The Second Game); and U.S. titles Kumiko, The Treasure Hunter with Rinko Kikuchi and directed by and starring David Zellner; and She’s Lost Control by German director Anja Marquardt. Meanwhile, two movies helmed by American indie filmmaker Josephine Decker are screening: Butter On The Latch and Thou Wast Mild And Lovely, the latter with Joe Swanberg.
