Kendrick Sampson has been cast in Fox’s 10-hour event series Gracepoint, a remake of the UK’s Broadchurch. The project, from Shine America and Kudos, centers on Detective Emmett Carver (David Tennant), the lead male investigator on the case of a shocking murder of 11-year-old Danny that puts a small town under scrutiny. Sampson, repped by Abrams Artists and Management 360, will play Dean Iverson, who works shifts oystering, busing tables at his uncle’s restaurant and saving money with the hopes of going to community college. He is dating Chloe to the disapproval of her parents, Mark (Michael Pena) and Beth (Virginia Kull).
Kelsey Chow (One Tree Hill) has been added to Fox‘s 13-episode series Hieroglyph. Produced by 20th TV and Chernin Entertainment, Hieroglyph is set in ancient Egypt, where fantasy and reality intertwined. It follows a notorious thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharoah (Reece Ritchie), navigating palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and even a few divine sorcerers. Chow, repped by ICM Partners, Magnolia Entertainment, Coast to Coast and Hirsch Wallerstein, will play Lotus Tenry, a young and wiry concubine of a more grounded allure than her fellow concubines, who is a spy for a rival kingdom. She recently appeared in the indies The Wine Of Summer and Run.
