NBCUniversal News Group logoNEW YORK – February 5, 2014 – NBCUniversal named Mark Kornblau Senior Vice President, Communications for the NBCUniversal News Group. He will report to Pat Fili-Krushel, Chairman, NBCUniversal News Group. Kornblau succeeds Kathy Kelly-Brown who recently was tapped to lead the newly created Global Talent Booking division for NBCUniversal.  He will begin February 17.

In Kornblau’s new role, he will oversee the communications strategy for the NBCUniversal News Group, partnering with the communicators and business leads at NBC News, MSNBC and CNBC. Kornblau also will be responsible for positioning NBC News, MSNBC and CNBC as premier multi-platform news and information leaders and innovators in the rapidly-changing media landscape.

“Mark has an outstanding reputation as a communications executive,” said Fili-Krushel. “His broad range of experiences in the corporate, financial, government and political worlds make him the ideal candidate for this job and I have no doubt he will be a terrific addition to our team.”

Most recently, Kornblau was Managing Director of Corporate Communications for JPMorgan Chase, where he worked with the executive leadership team on strategic communications and oversaw media relations in support of the firm’s government relations and corporate responsibility efforts.

Previously, Kornblau served as Communications Director and Spokesman for Ambassador Susan Rice at the United States Mission to the United Nations. He has served in senior communications roles on two U.S. presidential campaigns, on Capitol Hill and on U.S. House and Senate campaigns. He was also Vice President of Corporate Communications at Zagat Survey.

Mark received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He resides in New York City with his wife and daughter.
