CinemaCon2014_badgeOverseas markets, and especially Asia, provided most of the good news for Hollywood in 2013 — a year when global box office sales increased 4% to $35.9B — according to the MPAA‘s annual Theatrical Market Statistics report released today at the CinemaCon confab in Las Vegas. But domestic theater owners have less to cheer as attendance in the U.S. and Canada slid a hair vs 2012, but rising ticket prices contributed to a 1% uptick in sales to $10.9B.
