Devil’s Knot is the story of three teenagers accused of the brutal 1993 murder of three 8-year-old boys in West Memphis, Ark. — two of them sentenced to life imprisonment and one to death even though there was not a shred of physical evidence. The film explores the lives of deeply misunderstood outsiders, their families and communities, and the hysterics that drove the trial. Reese Witherspoon stars as the mother of one of the murdered boys, and Colin Firth plays a lawyer who takes on the the unpopular case. Cast also includes Amy Ryan, Mireille Enos, Stephen Moyer, Alessandro Nivola and Dane DeHaan, Atom Egoyan directs from a script by Paul Harris Boardman and Scott Derrickson.
