There is no question that the town is wondering what’s going to happen to DreamWorks Studios if its leader Stacey Snider heads for a top job at Fox, but the company is still buying material. DreamWorks just optioned Made in Sweden, a novel by Anders Roslund and Stefan Thunberg, in a deal made by production president Holly Bario. Mark Sourian will produce and Nicolas Salomonsson will executive produce along with authors Roslund and Thunberg.

Book covers the true story of largest wave of bank robberies in Sweden’s history, heists pulled by three brothers and their childhood best friend, twentysomethings who went by the name ‘The Military Gang’. The novel looks at how a rough upbringing forges this alliance. “This has been a very personal and challenging story to write and it is exciting to know that a studio of such great taste will be responsible for bringing it to life,” said Roslund and Thunberg. “We’ve always been avid fans of Steven Spielberg and the fact that our story now resides with his studio is like a dream come true.”

Novel will be published in Sweden by Piratförlaget on May 28, 2014. A U.S. publisher will be set shortly. RWSG Literary and Keith Fleer brokered on behalf of the Salomonsson Agency.
