‘The Salvation’ Sells To France, Greece & Estonia Ahead Of Cannes
Business on Cannes Midnight Screening title The Salvation is heating up a few weeks ahead of theThe Salvation festival. Kristian Levring’s Scandinavian Western has been acquired by France (Jour2Fête, Chrysalis Films), Greece (Hollywood Entertainment) and Estonia (Estin Film). Mads Mikkelsen — a Cannes Best Actor winner for 2012′s The Hunt — Eva Green, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Mikael Persbrandt, Eric Cantona and Jonathan Pryce star. Levring co-wrote the script with Susanne Bier’s frequent collaborator Anders Thomas Jensen. The large-scale drama is a tale of revenge, blood feud, lost love and greed led by Mikkelsen’s Danish settler in 19th century North America. TrustNordisk has international sales.

Duncan Clark Is CineEurope’s 2014 International Distributor Of The Year
empphoto_12277_1320774977CineEurope will present its 2014 International Distributor of the Year Award to Duncan Clark, President of Distribution at Universal Pictures International. Clark — who just re-upped at UPI and will continue to be based in London — will receive the award during a special Universal luncheon June 17 at Centre Convencions Internacional Barcelona in the Spanish city. Since 2011, he has overseen UPI’s operating companies, United International Pictures, as well as UPI’s independent partners and sales agents. Before UPI, Clark spent 14 years at Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures. “You could not ask for a more dedicated leader whose passion and commitment to both his company and the industry have helped bring quality films to so many moviegoers around the world,” said Robert Sunshine, Managing Director of the event.

Jane Treays Joins Spun Gold TV
The UK’s Spun Gold TV has appointed producer-director Jane Treays to its creative team. Treays is known for her documentary work, most recently on the BBC Two series Inside Claridge’s. Other credits include Extraordinary Families (Channel 4) Mum, Heroin And Me (Channel 4) and The Man With The Seven Second Memory (ITV1). Spun Gold produces high-end observational documentaries. Last year, Treays and Spun Gold collaborated on Prince William’s Passion: New Father, New Hope, the first interview given by the Duke of Cambridge following the birth of his son, and a co-production with CNN.
