sagaftra2SAG-AFTRA negotiators have reached an agreement on a new contract, but not for a new film and TV pact. Those film and TV talks, now wrapping their fourth week of bargaining, are expected to go on for several more weeks under a news “blackout.” But the union has reached a deal for announcers at KOIT-FM radio in San Francisco after a federal mediator was called in to help kick-start the stalled negotiations. The new deal there calls for 2% increases on a wage escalator for those currently working at the station; agreement for additional compensation prior to reuse of programming material outside of the market and for the reuse of material post-termination; improvements on severance beyond company policy; and increased pay for part-timers. The new deal must still be ratified by the station’s broadcasters.
