‘Extra’ Adds Two Extra Hosts Alongside Mario LopezSyndie entertainment newsmag Extra has named Tracey Edmonds and Fox Sports 1′s Charissa Thompson as co-hosts for the show’s upcoming 21st season that premieres September 8. Both have inked multi-year deals to join Lopez, who has been on the show since 2007. The moves come after the May departure of longtime co-host Maria Menounos, who inked a multi-year pact of her own at E! that includes hosting her own one-hour entertainment newsmag series, Untold With Maria Menounos.

Edmonds is a producer and CEO of Edmonds Entertainment, which has Dieon’s Family Playbook on OWN. Thompson will pull double duty with her Fox Sports 1 job; she was one of the high-profile hires when that network launched last summer.

“Tracey Edmonds is one of the most accomplished television forces in Hollywood. She is already a star with A-list relationships. Charissa Thompson is one of the quickest, sharpest and best interviewers on sports TV and was born to juggle the demands of fast-paced television,” Extra senior executive producer Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey. “From the moment I put Tracey and Charissa on stage with Mario, their chemistry was off the charts.”
