Jennifer Grey is set to co-star in Amazon Studios’ comedy pilot Red Oaks, from Steven Soderbergh and David Gordon Green. Set in summer 1985, Red Oaks centers on 20-year-old David Myers, who takes a job as an assistant tennis pro at the predominantly Jewish Red Oaks country club in New Jersey. Grey will play David’s mother and Sam’s (Richard Kind) wife. She’s relieved to see that her husband’s heart attack wasn’t fatal and she and Sam seem like a perfectly normal, reasonably content married couple despite her sexuality possibly being in question. Grey, repped by UTA and Untitled, voices Disney Channel’s Phineas And Ferb and was seen in Joss Whedon’s In Your Eyes.
Patrick Heusinger, coming off playing the lead in NBC’s drama pilot Tim Man, is staying in the NBCUniversal family with a major recurring role on Bravo’s first original scripted series Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce. It centers on Abby (Lisa Edelstein), a self-help book author who hides the fact that she’s separated from her husband as she starts to navigate her life as a single woman in her early 40s in Los Angeles. Heusinger, repped by Group Entertainment and Gersh, will play Max, Abby’s brother and best friend. His credits also include NBC’s Revolution and USA’s Royal Pains.
