Steven Brand has been tapped for a new series regular role on AMC’s pilot Galyntine, the drama created by Halt & Catch Fire‘s Jason Cahill and executive produced by Scott Free and The Walking Dead‘s Greg Nicotero. Nicotero also is directing the pilot, a fantasy-action adventure with hints of sci-fi set in a postapocalyptic future without technology where a band of survivors is forced to adapt to isolation and the challenges of their new world. Alex Russell was just cast in the lead role, and Catherine Dent and Charlotte D’Ambroise also are aboard. Brand, repped by Global Artists Agency, will play Britt, Haven’s (Dent) husband. He is Essyn and Aethys’ father, a once formidable hunter who’s now a political figure in the colony. Brand, who recurred on Starz’s Magic City, is next up in a recurring role on ABC’s drama Secrets & Lies.

Tony winner Dan Fogler (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) has replaced Clifton Collins Jr in ABC’s new midseason drama series Secrets & Lies, which stars Ryan Phillippe as Ben, a family man who finds the body of a young boy and quickly becomes the prime murder suspect. Collins originally was cast in a co-starring role as Dave, a faded musician who can’t quite get his act together and lives in Ben and wife Christy’s (KaDee Strickland’s) guest house. He lives a cheerfully irresponsible life, has a great sense of humor and no filter. He suffers from a Peter Pan/never-grew-up syndrome but is a fundamentally a good guy and is unwavering in his support of Ben and his family. Juliette Lewis and Indiana Evans co-star, with Charles Dutton, Kate Ashfield and Brand recurring. Fogler is repped by UTA and Management 360.
