EXCLUSIVE: Following his now famous stint in Saturday Night Live‘s Captain Jack Sparrow digital short and a recent guest spot on Two And A Half Men, Michael Bolton is getting his own comedy series. ABC has put in development Michael Bolton’s Daughter Is Destroying My Life, a half-hour comedy starring the Grammy-winning singer.

The project, from Tagline and Universal Cable Prods. where the company is under a first-look deal, is based on an idea by actress Allison Miller, who co-stars on NBC’s Go On. It is loosely inspired by Miller’s real-life celebrity encounters when she first came to Hollywood. Before the project came together, she had not met Bolton, who will play a fictional version of himself. Tami Sagher (30 Rock) will write Michael Bolton’s Daughter Is Destroying My Life, which tells the story of a naïve young writer who moves to the big city and ends up taking a job heading “social media” for singer-songwriter Michael Bolton. The writer quickly learns she has her hands full with Bolton and the wild-child daughter he has recently taken in. Sagher will executive produce with Tagline’s Willie Mercer, Ron West, JB Roberts & Kelly Kulchak. Bolton will co-executive produce, Miller will produce. For now, there is no provision for Miller to star on the show though that is a possibility. Read More »
