The negative comments are probably from the same person. Seriously. The script is way too entertaining and witty for you to NOT give this show a go, and the characters are beyond talented. Mindy Kaling and her team of writers are absolute geniuses.

I’m a guy in his 30′s with no connection to the show. I gotta speak up here and say I laugh VERY hard at least twice an episode which is more than I can say for almost any other comedy on tv.

Comment by Truth, I just had to chime in here. You and others could not be more off base as it relates to belittling the ‘hard working assistant’ and other comments of this being a scam or somehow corruption.

I happen to know as a fact that this writer has been hard at work honing her craft from the age of eight, not once loosing sight of her dream and desire to become a screen writer. The first and ONLY member in her family to attend college and the daughter of a middle income family, she is a far cry from one with a privileged background.

While other high school and college kids were partying, Tasha was writing. Connections? Hell no! Hard work? You better believe it! The truly talented ones do not “buy” their representation, they are sought out by the managers and agents whom know talent when they see it. Had the deal been with Universal, I could see why those less knowledgeable about how the business works would assume the writer is connected however, trust me, she is simply a hard working writer with a strong work ethic, big dreams, big stories to tell and big “Ovaries” to make those dreams into a reality!

What would be the economic reason to pay the salaries?
Simple, the same reason why nbc paid that much for friends, they need the anchor for their thursday block. Take away this show and the cbs thursday comedy block will fall apart as has the nbc thursday when they lost their thursday anchor. Plus they get more syndication money if more episodes exist to be syndicated.
