I heard this afternoon that the rather unpopular (some say loathed) Bob Crestani is out at HBO on the eve of the pay channel's Comedy Festival in Las Vegas next week. Someone at HBO just got back to me and tried to put a nicer spin on it: "Bob knew it was very unlikely that HBO was planning to continue in the Festival business at its current level beyond this year, and therefore he chose to resign effective at the end of the The Comedy Festival which takes place in Las Vegas next week." Yeah, and I bet he wants to spend more time with his family, too. Chalk this up to more fallout from the Chris Albrecht firing.
