Please get well soon, Nikki. Word of caution: if you feel your breathing getting restricted, don’t hesitate to go to the ER ASAP. I had H1N1 early in the year and it nearly suffocated me.
If it’s the swine flu, that sucks. I had it last month. It kicked my ass. Hope you feel better.

Lots of water, non-alcoholic clear liquids — if you can hold a glass of it up to the light and see through it, good. If not, leave it. Whatever you can keep down. 7Up, sometimes, popsicles. As much sleep and rest as you can manage.

When you cover pigs, you’re bound to get that swine flu.

Hope you feel better. Just make sure you rest and get plenty of fluids. The blog will do fine during your downtime… if not, send notes to your assistants and have them update the blog for you.

Sorry to hear this Nikki, if it’s H1N1 & they won’t give you Tamiflu or Relenza you can try some N acetyl cysteine (health food section of grocery store has it)
Had case of H1N1 in May myself. Couldn’t get them to prescribe me a neuraminidase inhibitor so I went the NAC route…in 4 hours time my bone pain (sign my immune system was in overdrive fighting some infection it had never seen before) stopped & my fever came down a whole degree. Good stuff.
Other than that, rest & fluids just like any other flu infection.

For a sore throat, gargle with a few spoons of organic apple cider vinegar and hot water.
All this drama today at Disney, and no Nikki to cover it… I feel like I am not getting the story until you are on it!
My remedy; HGTV! Nothing better than inane, innocuous television with lots of pastel and soft Muzak to ease your pain(s).

Try to Netty your sinuses, take echinaca and zinc, pump fluids, and allow yourself plenty of REM sleep.
If none of that works, then just keep writing.
