SATURDAY UPDATE: As of today, Sony and NBC moved into first positions in the Hollywood auction of the live music, primetime TV special, and film rights to Michael Jackson's rehearsal footage for sale by the ghouls at AEG (see below). 
Although the winners of the auction won't be announced until next week, major studios like Viacom's Paramount/MTV, NBC Universal, Sony Music and Sony Pictures, and News Corp's 20th Century Fox/Fox Broadcasting Co, all have been battling for the projects. I've confirmed that AEG started the bidding for the movies rights at a staggering $50 million, and the TV special rights at $10 million. "They are looking to do a primetime TV special with NBC, and then go with live albums and films with Sony since Sony controls the distribution rights to [MJ's] music," one of my insiders told me today. "All this needs to be sorted out through the weekend as they will have to go to the judge to get any deals blessed next week." That may explain why insiders keep telling me about the "sensitivity and confidentiality" of the ongoing negotiation process.
I've learned AEG's goal is to have the primetime TV special on air in September and the film out in October. No word on when the live albums would be scheduled. (Perhaps in part because Sony Music's ex-topper Tommy Mottola has been quoted as saying that the company has "song after song" of unreleased MJ music, maybe even more than Elvis left behind.) The reason for the Hollywood feeding frenzy over these projects is straightforward: "As you know, it will be huge," one bidder tells me. "The footage is so moving. My fingers are crossed."
FRIDAY 5:15PM EXCLUSIVE: AEG is right now trying to auction off to Hollywood that concert film of the Michael Jackson rehearsals for his final tour. I'm told Sony, Universal and Fox are in negotiations, but the price keeps going up and up. $50 million is where it started, I heard. As soon as executives involved in organizing Michael Jackson's 50-night schedule of shows at London's O2 arena learned of the performers death, they met at Staples Center in Los Angeles and secured all of the rehearsal footage which Jackson had done there, according to news reports. Randy Phillips, president and CEO of AEG Live, ghoulishly boasted to The Associated Press he had "more than 100 hours of footage that could be turned into live albums, a movie and a pay-per-view special. He was our partner in life and now he's our partner in death." Phillips claimed the production budget for the shows reached $25 million, which also covered 3-D "mini-movies" of Thriller and Earth Song. He also said that, aside from AEG, the Jackson estate would get the "lion's share" of any profits from the high-def footage. (Photos of MJ's last rehearsals.)
The recordings were reportedly "great," with the last day on Wednesday being the "best," and all of them "enough for a show," NBC News reported at the time. The includes production meetings and auditions and behind-the-scenes showing Jackson and his dancers occupying several spaces in the Staples Center, and Michael going from room to room supervising the rehearsals. The Los Angeles Times and the AP also reported that the singer liked how the concert was developing.

My guess is that these shows will be highly entertaining and worth the price of admission. You just can’t write off MJ. Realize he was brilliant at what he did and if he had lived, I believe he would have delivered superb shows. Just my opinion.
I’m old enough, I saw his entire career. Most singers and dancers have nowhere near the talent of MJ. If you think it is easy to be in the same category as Elvis and The Beatles, you try it and see how far you get. MJ was the real deal. People should acknowledge that.
The shows they end up releasing will be powerful, but if he had lived he would have taken it up a notch in the O2 shows. Would have been fantastic, but the rehearsal footage will be very cool.

Why does no one mention that, in the clips released so far, the “moves” he’s doing are nothing special at all – he’s dancing the way almost anyone (certainly any entertainer) can dance. Very few moves at all, then goosestepping, then saluting (wow), circling his finger in the air, etc. They’d better have more compelling footage than what’s been released. If AEG has enough footage to put a concert film together, then obviously millions want to see it. Even though Americans cast Michael overboard, it was AEG’s British deal that got Michael back on to the stage. If he wasn’t physically up to it, then he would have died there. Would love to see the Disney attraction “Captain EO” released, that was really enjoyable, even though I couldn’t focus on half of what 3D objects were coming at me. That was most likely Michael at his best. Of course, the parks pulled it when the scandals hit.

Can someone PLEASE bring me a link from a credible source that says MJ is a pedophile. Because without facts from a credible source, we’re all just speculating on things that we know NOTHING about! Obviously, no one but the gossiping Americans believe he did it anyway. That’s why he didn’t play MSG.

AEG are definitely ghouls – from top to bottom. They hide behind the facade of the pseudo-Christian Anschutz (pCA), and back stab and claw to make up for the stupid investment they put Anschutz’s money into. The first question asked after MJ’s death wasn’t “How can we help?” , instead, it was “How can we make anything off this?” That was because pCA himself was on the phone asking for a dollar total spent and lost and possible recoup. The AEG heads had to do something or possibly lose face and jobs, and so was born the heartless, and without a soul actions to rape the MJ crypt and push it onto mourning fans while the body was still warm. Ghouls? Yes. Vampires? Yes. Trash? Yes. Scum? Yes. Cannibals? Yes. And when the next problem occurs, they will eat each other alive, sticking shivs into each other to blame the others for their failures and problems. When the tape goes on sale, a spot has been reserved in hell for their charred souls.

The New York Post is saying there was no body in the casket at Staples. In other words, the Jackson’s and AEG fooled Los Angeles and the World and it was nothing more then a staged event to make more money. AEG and Jackson’s owe Los Angeles $4 million for this phasod. TAxpayers are so mad at the idiot mayor Villaraigosa they may protest right in front of AEG, LA Live, Norkia. They are asking people to boycott and not eat at their restaurants, go to their concerts or events. This is a perfect way to send a message they are greedy.

I do not think Michael was a pedophile, I think he was misunderstood. Sneddon most likely wanted him out of Santa Barbara for a variety of reasons, including the baggage that Michael carried, namely the fans that camped out in Santa Barbara hotels and restaurants and skipped out on their bills. Generally not the type of people that were the target patrons of Santa Barbara.
Thankfully there is this footage and I am looking forward to seeing it. If it were up to me, I’d make sure CBS got the broadcast rights, with stipulations to promote it on the Tonight Show, Leno and other NBC outlets.

Michael Jackson accomplished so many great feats. These accomplishments are documented by reputable sources such as Billboard and Guinness Book.
But yet, so many of you cling to this pedophile nonsense when documentation from every credible source leads to Jackson’s acquittal.

Bring me proof OJ did it. I assume you know how to surf the web. Read, listen and learn. Listen to the detective who photographed Jackson’s genetalia after one of his accusers, a little boy, described it in detail. The photo matched exactly what he described. And then listen as the same experienced investigator described Jackson as a classic pedophile. Listen to the same detective who has intimate knowledge of the entire case, say he has no doubt Jackson molested children. Then look at any number of reports documenting Jackson’s 23 million dollar payment to his first accuser. Then listen to his own sister who called him a pedophile and then listen to his own words. ” Sharing a bed with little boys is charming.” If you still don’t believe he was a child molester then I am truly amazed that a man so stupid knows how to turn on a computer and blog.
I feel sorry for those who are so ignorant, close-minded and mean-spirited. Being this way they must miss out on all the little and large kindnesses and good deeds that others with opposing views share with the people around them.
Every now and again someone is blessed with something special and when given the opportunity, have been able to make a connection with all the peoples of the world. This is an extremely rare thing. It is something Michael Jackson was able to do. There is no denying this fact. Some may try to disregard it and some will try to convince others to disregard it but the undeniable fact remains.
People from every corner of the globe have received something special from Michael and have been and still are returning and will continue to return the love and respect they feel was a gift he gave to them. All these people want to contribute in whatever way they can to honor Michael by sharing with others the truth, the undeniable truth that he meant something to them and I am proud to be one of them. RIP Michael.
You people need to get a life. Michael Jackson was a gift to all of us. If you downloaded one song or bought one of his CD’s, you made him what he was. A superstar. Now think for one minute if it was you. All the fame all the money, yet no where to go and no one you could trust to talk to. Think about being down and wanting to talk to a friend but you can’t cause they could sell it to a tabloid…Everyone Michael met wanting something from him. The reason Michael loved children so much is because they were honest. Then for someone to take his love for children and make it twisted and dark and discusting and all lies. It was more than Michael could take and his spiral down started there. One last thing Michael never wanted to settle in the first case. He wanted to fight,he knew he was innocent. His insurance company settled. They paid the kid and his father, Michael never paid then anything. But of course that was never reported….

Why would I believe one detective over twelve jurors who reviewed the facts first hand and unanimously agreed to acquit? If they didn’t believe him, then why would anyone? He must not have made a very compelling case.
The difference between the OJ trial and the MJ trial is that the plaintiffs (who have a history of fraud and extreme credibility issues)were ALIVE to testify. And they did, thus sealing their own fate.
Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe you’re wrong. Who can prove it? No one. YOU do not have sufficient evidence to prove MJ is a pedophile. You weren’t there. You don’t know who motivated what on either side. Does anyone really know? Probably not. You can’t call him a pedophile any more than I can call you one. Saying something about someone without being able to prove it is called “slander”.
Meanwhile, he’s the greatest selling artist of all time. His music videos were revolutionary and he holds the Guinness book record for the most money donated to charity by a pop star. Michael Jackson pretty much set the standard for how everything is done in pop music.
Maybe you just don’t like Pop Music or you don’t like Michael Jackson’s music and that’s fine. But the FACTS that make him great far outweigh the “flimsy” legally refuted theories that suggest anything else.

May I suggest you stop considering a sad minority who hate regardless of any facts; people who obviously have nothing to contribute to the world but their own emptiness on someone else’s blog? Pls stop worrying about the truly dead (Michael Jackson is immortal) and continue to write and sing incredible, uplifting songs like “Lean On Me” & “Ain’t No Sunshine”?
