Showings of the joint Disney/Walden Media fantasy pic start in major outlets among the 3,929 theaters at 12:01 AM Friday, but of course the major moolah will be made during Saturday and Sunday kiddie matinees. I saw it and really like it. It was a screening filled with kids who were going crazy. I haven’t seen the other one, but this looks like a hit.

the first film built over a 2 month period and held steady the first few weeks. if i remember correctly, it came in second opening weekend behind king kong (which faded quickly).
