CBS Films has adjusted release dates for a couple of its movies. Director Michael Hoffman’s Gambit is shifting to October 12, 2012 from its previous date of January 11, 2013. The romantic comedy was written by Joel Cohen and Ethan Coen and stars Colin Firth, Alan Rickman and Cameron Diaz. Producers are Mike Lobell, Adam Ripp and Rob Paris. On the new date it will be up against Warner Bros and Ben Affleck’s Argo and Sony’s Here Comes The Boom with Kevin James. The horror-thriller 7500, directed by Takashi Shimizu, is moving to a yet-to-be-determined date in 2013 from August 31, 2012.
CBS Films announced today that it will release its airplane thriller 7500 on August 31, 2012. The Grudge helmer Takashi Shimizu is set to direct the story of a group of passengers who encounter what appears to be a supernatural force while on a transpacific flight. Craig Rosenberg (Lost) wrote the screenplay for the film, which begins shooting this month. We reported Tuesday that Leslie Bibb, Ryan Kwanten and Amy Smart will star in the film; since then, Jamie Chung, Christian Serratos and Scout Taylor-Compton have been added to the cast.
CBS Films has set Leslie Bibb, True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten and Amy Smart to star in 7500, a thriller that will be directed by The Grudge helmer Takashi Shimizu. Kwanten and Smart play a married couple and Bibb is a flight attendant on Vista Pacific Flight 7500. The film will cast up quickly. Craig Rosenberg wrote the script, and Shimizu is reteaming with Grudge producer Taka Ichise, who’s producing with The Ring producer Roy Lee. John Middleton and Tracy McGrath are exec producers. Bibb’s repped by ICM, Kwanten by CAA and Orly Adelson, Smart by Gersh.
