RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘Talent’, ‘Kitchen’ & ‘Wipeout’ Up; ‘Losing It’ & ‘Downfall’ Down

Veterans were up, newcomers down last night, which offered a slew of unscripted originals and scripted repeats.  NBC’s two-hour America’s Got Talent (3.4 rating/10 share in adults 18-49, 12.3 million viewers overall) was the top program of the night, up 17% in the demo from last week. Fox’s two-hour Hell’s Kitchen (3.1/10 in adults 18-49) was up 15% from last week, while Wipeout (2.9/10) at 8PM was up 12%. On the flip side, Talent’s lead-in, new NBC reality series Losing it With Jillian (1.2/4) at 8 PM was down 8% from last week, tying its lowest-rated telecast. Similarly, Wipeout’s lead-out, new ABC unscripted series Downfall (1.3/4) at 9PM, was down 7%. The premiere of ABC News Primetime: Family Secrets (1.2/3) was up a tenth vs. last summer’s debut. CBS aired wall-to-wall reruns of its Wednesday drama lineup. With Hell’s Kitchen, Fox (3.1/10, 6.8 million) won the night in 18-49, while NBC (2.7/8, 9.1 million) was tops in total viewers on the strength of Talent.
