Locations Show 2012 Finalizes Schedule; Cinedigm’s Chris McGurk To Give Keynote

LOS ANGELES (May 24, 2012) – The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) today announced the lineup of speakers and panel sessions for the 2012 Locations Show, which includes industry leaders, filmmakers and the creative teams behind some of the most talked-about films of the last two years. More than 200 exhibitors from 40 countries are already confirmed for the show, which will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center during the opening weekend of Film Independent’s Los Angeles Film Festival on June 15 – 16, 2012.

2011 ‘Produced By’ Confab To Assemble Film Commissions From 40 Countries

This year’s “Produced By Conference” from June 3rd to 5th at Walt Disney Studios is finally helping filmmakers: for the first time it will provide access to more than 300 film commissions from 6 continents and 40 countries who have real funds and tax incentives to get projects made. No other conferenc has ever collected $2 billion in available development funds and incentives. It’s the ultimate Hollywood hook-up. You need the Alamo in your film? San Antonio Film Commission can get it for you. In Sweden it takes literally one phone call to close a street. In Scotland you can shoot there without permits. Other countries repped include Panama, Fiji, Morocco, Kenya, Iceland, Namibia, Abu Dhabi, Japan (critical for them to get business back there), Serbia, Czech Republic, Uruguay, and of course numerous cities in the U.S. This year’s ‘Produced By’ Conference is organized with The Association of Film Commissioners International, the non-profit and official professional organization for film commissioners who assist film, television and video production throughout the world. ‘Produced By’ Conference Teams With Film Commission Trade Show

LOS ANGELES (November 2, 2010) – The Producers Guild of America (PGA) and the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) announced today that the 2011 Produced By Conference (PBC) will be held in conjunction with AFCI’s Locations Trade Show June 3-5, 2011. More details about the event will be released early next year.

Reaching across film, television and new media industries, PBC is an educational forum that attracted more than 1,100 people last year and involves acclaimed producers, including countless Academy Award®-winning filmmakers and Emmy® Award winners, as well as the next generation of creative entrepreneurs. The annual AFCI Locations Trade Show is the largest worldwide gathering of film commissions.

“The Produced By Conference is an important initiative for the Guild as it brings together our amazing producer community for two days of learning and networking. By partnering with AFCI we hope that PBC will be an even more invaluable experience,” said PGA President Emeritus and PBC Event Co-Chair Marshall Herskovitz. “We’re excited to build upon last year’s wildly successful program, and we believe our collaboration with AFCI will enhance learning opportunities and provide the increasingly important global perspective,” added PBC Event Co-Chair Gale Anne Hurd.
