Indie Feature ‘Whiskey Bay’ Sets Cast

EXCLUSIVE: Hatfields & McCoysTom Berenger, Amy Smart, Bill Duke, Neal McDonough, Christopher Marquette and Frederick Weller have been set to join Matt Dillon and Willem Dafoe in the dramatic-thriller Whiskey Bay. The film is a co-production between CB Productions, ANA Media and Mandalay Vision, and shooting is just getting underway in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

Producer Chris Brinker is making his directorial debut from a script written by Johnny Hirschbein. Inspired by a true story, Whiskey Bay concerns a veteran Baton Rouge detective (Dafoe) who infiltrates the most powerful criminal enterprise in the South and, after taking down its top lieutenant and contract killer (Dillon), convinces him to turn informant to help bring down the entire organization including its amoral architect (Berenger). Amy Smart plays Dillon’s wife. Brinker produces with ANA’s Scott Einbinder, Mandalay Vision President Matthew Rhodes, Nancy Green-Keyes and Jim Crabbe. Kevin Chapman and Don Yesso co-star and serve as exec producers.

Amy Smart Joins NBC Pilot ‘Bad Girls’, Matt Lauria Cast In ABC’s ‘Gilded Lilys’, ABC Family Series ‘Baby Daddy’ Recasts Lead

Amy Smart and Karolina Wydra have been cast in NBC’s drama pilot Bad Girls. Adapted from the long-running UK series, the project, from John Wells Prods and Warner Bros TV, follows the ins and outs of a group of unlikely women in a federal prison: a scandalous female warden, her new protégé and a host of inmates — some mothers, some friends — who struggle with loyalties to people on the inside and outside. Smart will play “the perfect blond Barbie doll from Orange County” serving time for stealing her friend’s credit card and running it up to the max. Wydra will play a scheming, sultry inmate. Smart, repped by Gersh and Untitled, is recurring on Showtime’s Shameless. Wydra, repped by IFA and Artist Management, recurs on Fox’s House as Dr. House’s green card wife.

Friday Night Lights alum Matt Lauria has joined KJ Steinberg and Shonda Rhimes’ ABC period drama Gilded Lilys. Set in 1895, it centers on the Lilys, who are looking to revive their family’s fortunes by opening the most lavish hotel in New York history while their beautiful daughter Violet (Sarah Bolger), engaged to be married to wealthy family friend Charlie (Lauria), falls madly in love with charismatic lowly ship’s servant John Kidd (Long). ‘Entourage’s Jerry Ferrara Hops Fright Flight ‘7500’

Entourage‘s Jerry Ferrara has joined the cast of the Takashi Shimizu-directed CBS Films thriller 7500. He stars with Ryan Kwanten, Amy Smart, Leslie Bibb, Jamie Chung, Christian Serratos, and Scout Taylor-Compton. It is Ferrara’s second film since the end of the HBO series, after he landed Screen Gems’ Think Like a Man, which stars Kevin Hart, Taraji P Henson, Michael Ealy, and Gabrielle Union. Ferrara isn’t done with TV, as he’s attaching to produce several projects. He’s repped by WME and Leverage.

CBS Films Sets Cast For ’7500′, Thriller By ‘Grudge’ Helmer Takashi Shimizu

CBS Films has set Leslie Bibb, True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten and Amy Smart to star in 7500, a thriller that will be directed by The Grudge helmer Takashi Shimizu. The focus is a group of passengers who encounter what appears to be a supernatural force while on a transpacific flight. The film begins shooting later this month.

Kwanten and Smart play a married couple and Bibb is a flight attendant on Vista Pacific Flight 7500. The film will cast up quickly. Craig Rosenberg wrote the script, and Shimizu is reteaming with Grudge producer Taka Ichise, who’s producing with The Ring producer Roy Lee. John Middleton and Tracy McGrath are exec producers. Bibb’s repped by ICM, Kwanten by CAA and Orly Adelson, Smart by Gersh.
