‘Shrek’ Producer Aron Warner Named President Of Animation At Reel FX

Reel FX Aron WarnerEXCLUSIVE: Oscar-winning Shrek, Shrek 2, and Shrek The Third producer Aron Warner will head a growing slate of original animated features as newly anointed President of Animation at Reel FX. Warner first segued into animation in 1998 as a producer on Antz after overseeing films like Independence Day, True Lies, and Titanic as VP Production at Fox. He’ll hit the ground running as the design, VFX, animation, and live-action studio aims to ramp up its original animation slate, which includes a lineup of features already in the works.

Paramount‘s Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away has the scope of the group’s live performances covered thanks to the tech contributions of executive producer James Cameron and Vince Pace. Andrew Adamson directed the hybrid concert pic, which is set for a December 21 release.

Paramount Acquires Worldwide Rights To Andrew Adamson And James Cameron’s Cirque Du Soleil 3D Feature

BREAKING: Paramount Pictures has acquired worldwide distribution rights to Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away, the 3D feature that Shrek and The Chronicles of Narnia helmer Andrew Adamson wrote and is directing, with James Cameron exec producing and spearheading the 3D. Deadline broke the story that Adamson and Cameron were teaming with Cirque du Soleil in late 2010 on a 3D film. Here is Paramount’s announcement:

HOLLYWOOD, CA (January 10, 2012) – Paramount Pictures and Cirque du Soleil jointly announced today that the studio has acquired worldwide distribution rights to the Cirque du Soleil 3D feature film entitled “Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away”. Written and directed by Andrew Adamson (“Shrek,” “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”), and executive produced by Academy Award ® winning filmmaker James Cameron, the 3D film event features artistic and acrobatic performances from some of the most elaborate Cirque du Soleil productions. The film was produced by Adamson, Aron Warner, Cirque’s Martin Bolduc and Ed Jones and Cary Granat. Vince Pace oversaw the 3D stereo production aspect of the film.
