David Tennant, star of the Brit hit crime drama Broadchurch and one of the most beloved Doctor Who actors, has been cast in Fox‘s U.S. remake of Broadchurch. The U.S. version will star Tennant as an American detective who is the lead male investigator on the case of a shocking murder that puts a small town under scrutiny. This time it’s set in an American town, and, like the original, follows the tragic and mysterious death of a young boy found dead on an idyllic beach surrounded by rocks and a jutting cliff-face, from where he may have fallen. Although his cause of death remains unsolved, the picturesque seaside town where the tragedy occurred is at the heart of a major police investigation and a nationwide media frenzy.
Dan Futterman (Capote, In Treatment, Foxcatcher) and Anya Epstein (In Treatment, Homicide) have signed on as executive producers and showrunners. The crime series is scheduled to begin filming in January for broadcast during the 2014-2015 season. READ MORE »
