Christopher McDonald, Trevor Donovan Join History’s Texas Rangers Mini; S. Epatha Merkerson In NBC’s ‘Babylon Fields’

trevordonovanChristopher McDonaldchrismcdonald1 (Requiem For A Dream) and Trevor Donovan (90210) have joined the killer cast of History’s miniseries Texas Rising (working title) from A+E Studios and ITV Studios America. Leslie Greif (Hatfields & McCoys) is exec producing the project which will detail the Texas Revolution against Mexico and the rise of the legendary Texas Rangers. Roland Joffé will direct. McDonald, repped by Gersh and Brillstein, will play Henry Karnes, a grizzled, tough taskmaster of the ranging company. Donovan, with APA and Michael Yanni Management, will play Kit Acklin, a handsome, wise-ass, expert horseman whose chivalry and equestrian skills are matched only by his gun-fighting prowess. Bill Paxton, Brendan Fraser, Ray Liotta, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Thomas Jane, Olivier Martinez, Chad Michael Murray, Michael Rapaport and Max Thieriot round out the all-star cast.

Virginia Madsen To Co-Star In NBC Drama Pilot ‘Babylon Fields’

Virginia Madsen Babylon Fields PilotVirginia Madsen is set to co-star opposite Meagan Good and Kyle Schmid in NBC drama pilot Babylon Fields, from Michael Cuesta, Gerald Cuesta and Michael Atkinson. The 20th TV-produced project, originally developed and piloted at CBS seven years ago, is about a town’s residents coming back from the dead. Madsen will play Rhonda Wunch, CDC scientist Thomas Wunch’s (Schmid) mother who is close to her son and wants him to stay home in Babylon. Rounding out the pilot’s regular cast are Ritchie Coster as Ernie Wunch, Thomas’ father and Rhonda’s husband, a former cop who most people thought ran away to Daytona; and Yul Vazquez as Chief of Police Matt Conte. Madsen, repped by UTA and Untitled, has recurred on Lifetime’s Witches Of East End. Coster is with Gersh and Glenn Daniels Arts Management; Vazquez is managed by Untitled.

Kyle Schmid Joins NBC Drama Pilot ‘Babylon Fields’; Julie Meyer In ‘Mission Control’

schmid2Kyle Schmid (Copper) is set for a lead role opposite Meagan Good in NBC drama pilot Babylon Fields, from Michael Cuesta, Gerald Cuesta and Michael Atkinson. The 20th TV-produced project, originally developed and piloted at CBS seven years ago, is about a town’s residents coming back from the dead. Schmid, repped by DBA & Norbert Abrams  in Canada, will play Thomas Wunch who works for the CDC as a scientist and is Janine’s (Good) first love.

Julie Meyer (How I Met Your Mother, The New Normal)juliemeyer has booked a series regular role in NBC’s pilot Mission Control, a Universal TV-produced comedy from executive producers Adam McKay and Will Ferrell. A workplace ensemble set in 1962, Mission Control examines what happens when a strong woman (Krysten Ritter) butts heads with a macho astronaut (Tommy Dewey) in the race to land on the moon. Meyer, repped by Abrams Artists Agency, will play Carol Ann, the earnest, upbeat secretary working for on-site administrator Bob Korman.

Skeet Ulrich To Co-Star In NBC Pilot ‘Babylon Fields’

ulrichJericho alum Skeet Ulrich is set for a lead role opposite Meagan Good in NBC drama pilot Babylon Fields, from Michael Cuesta, Gerald Cuesta and Michael Atkinson. The 20th TV-produced project, originally developed and piloted at CBS seven years ago, is about a town’s residents coming back from the dead. Ulrich, repped by UTA and Brillstein, will play the dual roles of Father Harries, a local priest, and his estranged identical twin brother Graham, a junkie who returns from the dead. This marks Ulrich’s return to NBC, where he starred on Law & Order: LA. He will segue to Babylon Fields after wrapping indie Lost In Austin and next will be seen in the indie 50 to 1.
