Fox International Producing ‘Amapola’ Starring Camilla Belle

Fox International Productions has boarded Amapola, the feature helming debut of Argentinian opera and theater director and Oscar-winning art director Eugenio Zanetti. Production is underway in El Tigre, Argentina on the film that Zanetti also wrote and which stars Camilla Belle as the title character. Also starring are Francois Arnaud, Geraldine Chaplin, Lito Cruz and Leonor Benedetto.

The film is described as a romantic reimagining of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream set against the turbulent backdrops of the 1962 Argentinian military coup and the 1982 war for the Falkland Islands. The Fox International Production is produced by Rodrigo H. Vila and Dalila Zaritzky via Cinema 7. Twentieth Century Fox will distribute the film in Latin America. Belle is repped by Untitled, UTA and Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum Morris & Klein.

Anchor Bay Acquires Kevin Spacey Comedy ‘Father Of Invention’

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Anchor Bay Films announced today the pick up of the comedy Father of Invention starring Academy Award™ winning actor Kevin Spacey (Horrible Bosses, American Beauty), Camilla Belle (10,000 BC, When a Stranger Calls), Heather Graham (Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, The Hangover) and Virginia Madsen (Sideways, The Number 23). The film was co-financed by Sunrise Films, LLC and debuted as an official selection at the Berlin International Film Festival.
