TV CASTINGS: Caroline Dhavernas Joins ‘Hannibal’, Elyes Gabel In ‘Body Of Proof’

Wonderfalls star Caroline Dhavernas is reuniting with that series’ co-creator Bryan Fuller on his new NBC series Hannibal, which centers on the budding relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and his mentor Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen). Dhavernas will play a beautiful Psychology professor who works as a consultant profiler for the FBI. She would like to be Will’s friend and fears that his recruitment by FBI agent Jack Crawford’s (Laurence Fishburne) will put him in harm’s way.

Game of Thrones alum Elyes Gabel is set for one of the two new regular roles on ABC’s Body Of Proof next season. He will play Det. Adam Schaeffer, a newly minted detective and partner to Det. Tommy Sullivan (fellow new regular Mark Valley. The new additions come in the wake of the departure of three BOP regulars whose options were not picked up in May: Nicholas Bishop, John Carroll Lynch and Sonja Sohn.

PILOT CASTINGS: USA’s ‘Over/Under’ Finds Female Lead, Young Actress Joins ‘Powers’

Off the Map co-star Caroline Dhavernas has landed the female lead in the USA pilot Over/Under. The project, from Fox TV Studios and Universal Cable Prods, centers on Paul (Steven Pasquale), a day trader with a massive gambling problem who is fired from his job six months after a bad trade costs his firm millions. Shut out of the job market, he and his wife (Dhavernas) — a professional photographer specializing in nude portraits and a devoted Manhattanite — move to Brooklyn. There, Paul finds an unlikely partner, expectant father Marino (Anthony Carrigan), to start a high-end bookie business. Bronwen Hughes is set to direct the pilot from a script by Sheila Callaghan. Dhavernas is with Gersh.

Bailee Madison (Just Go With It) has joined FX’s drama pilot Powers. Based on the graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, the project, written by Charles H. Eglee and to be directed by Michael Dinner, is a police procedural set in a world where superpowers are relatively common and centers on two detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, in a Homicide department that deals with cases involving “powers” (people with superpowers). TV TEASER: ABC’s Midseason ‘Off the Map’

Here’s an exclusive first look at the extended teaser for Off the Map, ABC’s new medical hour from Shonda Rhimes and Jenna Bans that’s set to premiere on January 12. The drama revolves around a group of doctors working at a medical clinic in the South American jungle and stars  Martin Henderson (The Ring), Caroline Dhavernas (Wonderfalls), Jason George (Grey’s Anatomy), Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights), Rachelle Lefevre (What About Brian), and Mamie Gummer (The Good Wife).
