At its upfront presentation today, Style Media announced a 25% increase in original programming with the addition of five new original series to its schedule and six other series projects to its development slate, joining returning shows Tia & Tamera and Glam Fairy. The newly picked up series include Betsey + LuLu, starring fashion designer Betsey Johnson and produced by Magical Elves; an aspirational home makeover series starring Bill Rancic; a show toplined by Adrienne Bailon and Julissa Bermudez; and previously announced Jerseylicious spinoff Chicagolicious. Style’s series in development include a celebrity-driven show starring So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley and another headlined by Kimora Lee Simmons. The first of Style’s new original series, Empire Girls: Julissa & Adrienne, premieres June 3. “Our upcoming slate builds on Style’s commitment to develop compelling programming that showcases fascinating personalities with an insatiable appetite for stylish living,” said Style’s SVP original programming Sarah Weidman. Here is Style’s programming slate:
The Style Network has picked up Chicagolicious, a spinoff from the network’s flagship docu-series Jerseylicious, which will premiere on June 3 after Jerseylicious. Produced by Jerseylicious producer Endemol USA, the 10-episode Chicagolicious is set in the Windy City and follows AJ Johnson, owner of AJ’s of Chicago, whose clientele includes Jennifer Hudson, Angela Bassett and Iman. The green light for Chicagolicious comes as Jerseylicious‘ current fourth season is ranking as the unscripted series’ most-watched with an average of 591,000 total viewers. This is the second Jerseylicious spinoff series on Style, following Glam Fairy.
