WME Signs ‘Reckless’ Creator And ‘Safe Haven’ Scribe Dana StevensWME has just signed Dana Stevens, the prolific feature writer who is the exec producer and sole creator of Reckless on CBS. Stevens last year adapted the Nicholas Sparks novel Safe Haven for Relativity, and her other credits include City Of Angels dana stevensand the Kevin Costner baseball pic For Love Of The Game. She currently is adapting for James Cameron’s Lightstorm and Fox The Dive, the touching story of Cuban free diver Pipin Ferreras and his wife Audrey Mestres, the latter of whom died trying to better her record for a free dive, in which she plunged to an unimaginable depth on a single breath and then tried to swim to the surface. Stevens had been at UTA.

Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Hires Writer For R.L. Stine Thriller ‘The Au Pair’

Ghost House Pictures has set Dana Stevens to write The Au Pair, a thriller adaptation of The Sitter, a 2003 novel by Goosebumps author R.L. Stine. A young woman flees a troubled relationship for a great summer job as a family nanny in a Hamptons beachfront vacation home. That dream job becomes a nightmare. The picture is being produced by Sean Furst and Bryan Furst, with Ghost House principals Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert. Stevens, Nathan Kahane, Yvonne Bernard and Beth Elise Hawk are exec producers. Stevens and Raimi previously collaborated on For the Love of the Game, which Stevens wrote and Raimi directed for Universal. Stevens’s other scripts include Life or Something Like it, City of Angels and Blink. UTA reps her.

New Deal And More Ghost Projects For ‘Ghost Whisperer’ Duo At ABC

kim-moses-and-ian-sanderEXCLUSIVE: Ghost Whisperer executive producers Kim Moses and Ian Sander are staying put at their long-time TV home, ABC Studios, and are staying close to the supernatural powers brand of their CBS series with two new ghost-themed projects in the works at ABC, reality series Ghost Town and drama Ghost World. Moses and Sander have inked a new one-year overall deal with ABC Studios where their Sander/Moses Prods. has been based since 2004. During their first one-year deal there, the duo developed Ghost Whisperer with creator John Gray. They executive produced the series starring Jennifer Love Hewitt for 5 seasons, until its unexpected cancellation by CBS in May and unsuccessful transfer to ABC.

Sander and Moses’ reality project, tentatively called Ghost Town, is in development at ABC Media Prods., the ABC Daytime production entity. The half-hour show would feature well-known psychic Maureen Hancock as she goes “coast to coast calling up the past, seeing the future, and contacting spirits.” Hancock travels the country in real-life, doing Postcards From Heaven shows.

Additionally, Moses and Sander are behind Ghost World, one of the 5 projects on ABC’s off-cycle drama development slate.
