Fox Business Network will launch Making Money With Charles Payne on Monday, June 2 at 6 PM. Payne joined FBN as a contributor in 2007 and appears across the network and Fox News Channel. Fox News says Payne began his career on Wall Street as an analyst at E.F. Hutton in 1985. In 1991, he founded Wall Street Strategies, an independent stock market research firm where he serves as CEO and principal analyst. He published his first book, Be Smart, Act Fast, Get Rich in May 2007. “Charles has an incredible talent for identifying growth sectors in the markets and we’re excited to launch a new show dedicated to helping viewers spot these emerging investment prospects,” FBN EVP Kevin Magee said in today’s programming announcement. Cavuto, which currently airs at 6 PM ET and repeats at 8, will move to 8 PM ET when Making Money debuts.
The newsman has been with the network since its 2007 launch and has anchored its Varney & Co. for the past four years. Now Stuart Varney has signed a multiyear deal to remain with Fox Business Network. He also serves as a fill-in host for Fox News Channel‘s Your World With Neil Cavuto. Varney joined Fox News in 2004 after stints at CNBC and CNN.
Fox Business Network announced today it will debut The Independents, a new primetime program hosted by Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, on Monday, December 9. The program, which will appear Monday through Wednesday and Friday nights at 9 PM ET, will feature a roundtable discussion on the news of the day “with a special emphasis on the protection of economic and civil liberties..”
Kennedy will be joined by co-hosts: Reason magazine’s Matt Welch and America’s Future Foundation’s Kmele Foster, as well as a rotating panel of experts. The new program replaces the rerun showing of The Willis Report (FBN’s Stossel, hosted by John Stossel, will continue to appear at 9 PM ET on Thursdays). With the addition of The Independents, FBN will now be live each weekday from 6 AM to 10 PM.
Kennedy joined FBN as a contributor and special correspondent to Stossel in 2012. She is the author of two books: The Kennedy Chronicles: The Golden Age Of MTV Through Rose-Colored Glasses (She got her start in television as an MTV VJ in the early 90′s) and Hey Ladies! Tales And Tips For Curious Girls. She is also the host of Music In The Morning w/ Kennedy on 98.7FM Los Angeles Alternative radio and serves as a contributor to Reason.com.
