Wood, who will next be seen this fall in The Romantics and has lent his voice to Happy Feet 2, is repped by WME and Brillstein Partners.
EXCLUSIVE: David Manson has joined FX’s drama pilot Outlaw Country as an executive producer/co-showrunner. Additionally, Manson has inked a blind pilot deal with Fox TV Studios, which recently came on board to co-produce Outlaw Country with FX Prods. Manson also has another script set up at FtvS entitled Netherworld, which was originally developed at FX and is now being shopped to other networks. It is a spooky medical show with a supernatural slant set at a mental hospital. Outlaw Country is a crime thriller/family drama set against the backdrop of southern organized crime and Nashville royalty. Manson will co-run the project with Josh Goldin and Rachel Abramowitz who wrote the pilot. Sons of Anarchy exec producers Art Linson and John Linson are also executive producing, with Shooter Jennings serving as executive consultant and music supervisor. Mary Steenburgen just became the first actor cast in the pilot.
Manson previously worked with FX and FtvS on the series Thief, on which he served as an executive producer. The drama was produced by FtvS’s former unit (a co-venture with New Regency) Regency TV, which also produced another drama series executive produced by Manson, Fox’s New Amsterdam. Additionally, Manson created/exec produced the TNT series Saved.
