Haley Joel Osment Lands ‘Entourage’ Role

Haley Joel OsmentEXCLUSIVE: Haley Joel Osment has landed a supporting role in Entourage, the feature transfer that Doug Ellin is directing from his HBO series creation for Warner Bros. Some 13 years removed from The Sixth Sense, Osment joins Jeremy Piven, Billy Bob Thornton, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara along with the rest of the original TV cast. Ellin and Rob Weiss wrote the screenplay and Mark Wahlberg and Weiss are producing.

Osment gets the role as he finishes production on the Kevin Smith-directed A24 Films comedy Tusk, which will be released in the fall. He recently costarred with Will Ferrell, Tobey Maguire, Tim Robbins and Kristen Wiig in the IFC miniseries, The Spoils Of Babylon and can currently be seen in Amazon Studio’s Alpha House with John Goodman. Osment is repped by The Schiff Company and Resolution with attorney Bill Sobel.

TCA: IFC’s ‘Spoils Of Babylon’ Panel Tap Dances Around ‘SNL’ Diversity Question

TCADeadline__140109155905IFC’s new parody of epic TV miniseries, The Spoils Of Babylon, From Funny or Die, boasts a boatload of Saturday Night Live alums behind and in front of the camera: Will2014 Winter TCA Tour - Day 1 Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, Matt Piedmont, Andrew Steele, etc. Six, half-hour episodes will premiere on IFC in early 2014. Not surprisingly, the SNL alums got asked, during Winter TV Press Tour 2014,  to weigh in on the controversy that erupted this season over the lack of black female cast member on the NBC late-night series. In response to the controversy, Lorne Michaels in the past several days has hired not only a black comedienne for the cast, but also two black female writers.

“If you can give little insight, was this ever really anything? And is this ultimately good for the show, and what it means,” one critic asked the Spoils panel, a little unclearly.

Haley Joel Osment Lands Two Indie Comedies

EXCLUSIVE: Fresh off an acting break to attend NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Haley Joel Osment has landed a pair of indie comedies: the Kevin Smith-helmed Tusk and Max Landis’ Me Him Her. In Tusk, Osment will play Teddy, whose best friend and podcast co-host (Justin Long) goes missing in the backwoods of Canada. He joins forces with his friend’s girlfriend (Genesis Rodriguez) to search for him. Production begins next month in North Carolina and LA. Me Him Her‘s plot is being kept under wraps, but the cast includes Scott Bakula, Alia Shawkat and Geena Davis. Osment also appears on Amazon Studios’ sitcom Alpha House, and is in the IFC miniseries Spoils Of Babylon from Funny Or Die which debuts in January. He is repped by Resolution, The Schiff Co and Coast To Coast.
