Chello Zone Bringing ‘Hardcore Pawn’ To Several Territories
International TV provider Chello Zone has acquired all nine series of the US reality TV show Hardcore Pawn for its CBS Reality network in Poland and one of its EMEA feeds. CBS Reality will air the shows in primetime across Poland, Cyprus, Hungary, Romania, the Middle East and Africa. The first will premiere in Poland in June. The reality documentary series, which centers on a Detroit pawn shop, is produced by Zodiak USA for Tru TV and distributed internationally by Zodiak Rights.

Karlovy Vary To Celebrate Jerry Schatzberg
The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival said today that Palme d’Or-winning director Jerry Schatzberg will attend the 48th edition of the festival to screen three of his earliest films. The influential American director will introduce his recently restored debut Puzzle Of A Downfall Child (1970), The Panic In Needle Park (1970) and Palme winner Scarecrow (1973). TruTV’s ‘Hardcore Pawn’ Hits Ratings High In Season Premiere

Back for its seventh season Tuesday, truTV’s Hardcore Pawn premiered with record rating and viewership numbers. The pawn shop-based reality series pulled in 1.6 million viewers in the adults 18-49 demographic last night, rocketing up 36% over the show’s Season 6 debut last July and the best  truTV has ever done in the key demo. Hardcore Pawn also garnered truTV’s best ever season opener audience with 3.2 million viewers watching the return of pawnbroker Les Gold and his offspring. Last night’s viewership was up 25% over the Season 6 debut on July 10, 2012. Breaking records for truTV is nothing new for  Hardcore Pawn — when the series debuted in 2010, its 2.8 million viewers was at the time the best series or season premiere the network ever had.

‘Hardcore Pawn’ Renewed For Season 7

TruTV has ordered a seventh season of its flagship series Hardcore Pawn, which just shot its 100th episode. The docu reality series is set at family-owned American Jewelry & Loan. In its sixth season, Hardcore Pawn, produced by Zodiak New York, has averaged 2.6 million viewers (+11% vs. Season 5), with 1.2 million adults 18-49 and 665,000 men 18-49.

Marc Juris Promoted To COO At TruTV

TruTV has promoted Marc Juris to EVP and Chief Operating Officer after he helped spearhead the network’s transition from Court TV in 2008 with the addition of original programming like Hardcore Pawn, Lizard Lick Towing and Full Throttle Saloon. Those shows along with the acquired series Wipeout have assured truTV will finish 2011 with it best primetime deliveries in key adult and male demos. Juris, previously EVP and General Manager, will continue to oversee the network’s strategic planning, original programming, marketing and advertising and report to Turner Entertainment Networks boss Steve Koonin.

TruTV Renews ‘Hardcore Pawn’ For Fifth Season After Season 4 Premiere

TruTV’s Hardcore Pawn launched its fourth season last night with an average of 2.1 million viewers for its two original episodes (1.9 million for the first and 2.2 million for the second). And today, the network renewed the show for a fifth season, noting Hardcore Pawn‘s solid demo numbers: 816,000 for the first episode and over 1 million for the second. The 13-episode Season 5 will premiere later this year. Zodiak USA is producing the series with Natalka Znak, Claire O’Donohoe, Mike Gamson and Richard Dominick.

TruTV Renews 4 Shows, Acquires ‘Wipeout’, Sets Projects From Ridley & Tony Scott, JLo

TruTV, which has been on a ratings upswing, got an additional boost last month when it launched its first high-profile sports franchise, sharing with TNT, TBS and CBS the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship coverage. At its second annual upfront today, the network announced a slew of series renewals and projects in development. The network has renewed Hardcore Pawn and Black Gold for a fourth season, Full Throttle Saloon for a third season and has ordered additional episodes from freshman Lizard Lick Towing, a spinoff of All Worked Up. Additionally, truTV has picked off-network rights to ABC’s reality series Wipeout to start airing in the fall. TruTV Renews ‘Hardcore Pawn’ For Season 3

A week after the second season premiere of Hardcore Pawn on TruTV, the cable network has ordered a third season of the unscripted series produced by Zodiak USA. The 13-episode Season 3 is slated to begin in mid-February, following the conclusion of the second season, now airing Tuesdays at 10 PM. TruTV Renews ‘Hardcore Pawn’ For Season 2

TruTV has renewed docu reality series Hardcore Pawn for a second season with an eight-episode order. In August, the Zodiak USA-produced show launched to TruTV’s biggest series premiere ratings ever: 2.1 million viewers and more than 1 million adults 18-49. Hardcore Pawn goes behind the scenes at Detroit’s American Jewelry and Loan and centers on owner Les Gold and his staff, including his son Seth. “This summer, TruTV viewers fell in love with Hardcore Pawn,” said TruTV’s  GM Marc Juris. The second season of the show will “still be very much about the Gold family,” said Zodiak USA’s Natalka Znak, who executive produces the series with Claire O’Donohoe, Mike Gamson and Richard Dominick. “The show has really found its feet: it’s funny and lively and action-packed.”

Monday night’s premiere of reality series Hardcore Pawn scored trueTV’s highest-rated series debut ever with 2 million viewers; 1 million of them adults 18-49. This marks the first RDF USA series overseen by chief creative officer Natalka Znak. Meanwhile, The Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff on Sunday pulled in 3.5 million total viewers and 2.5 million adults 18-49, ranking as the No.1 basic cable show of the night with adults and improving over last year’s Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers by 40% in the 18-49 demo.
