High Noon Entertainment is partnering with MAG Interactive to adapt the popular Ruzzle mobile games for U.S. TV. High Noon says it plans to develop and expand the gaming series into a format for both broadcast and cable networks as well as syndication. The social word game allows each player two minutes to find as many words as possible from a given set of letters. Ruzzle is available in 13 different languages and can be played with friends or random players around the world. Exec producers include Jim Berger and Patrick Jager for High Noon, Johan Persson for MAG Interactive as well as mobile gaming expert Peter Levin.
Dude, you’re renewed! Deadline has learned that Discovery quietly has ordered a second season of reality competition series Dude, You’re Screwed from High Noon Entertainment. A twist on the survival genre, the series follows five of the world’s most elite, thrill-seeking survivalists who are captured one at a time by the other four. Once captured, they are then dropped in one of the world’s harshest environments and must make their way back to civilization — all within 100 hours. Season one, which premiered in December, featured a range of survivalists including a Green Beret, a member of the UK Royal Air Force, a former Navy SEAL and a veteran Army Scout. Jim Berger and Scott Feeley are exec producing for High Noon, along with Discovery’s Julie Meisner Eagle and Erin Wanner.
The producer of Cake Boss and the upcoming Polka Kings has upped Patrick Jager to SVP Development & Production and Scott Feeley to SVP Current Programming. Jager, who joined High Noon Entertainment in 2007, will manage the company’s development team and oversee its marketing and communications. He also will spearhead creation of docuseries and format for the U.S. and Latin American markets. Eight-year company vet Feeley will continue to executive produce all High Noon series and specials and oversee production in the Denver, Los Angeles and New York offices. Both execs, who were bumped up from VP, continue to report to CEO Jim Berger. “Scott and Patrick each possess a strong creative vision and a unique voice,” Berger. “They have stellar reputations, deep relationships within the community and amazing energy.”
The new half-hour reality series will premiere on ReelzChannel this fall, the channel said today. Polka Kings follows The Chardon Polka Band as they try to achieve mainstream status for the traditional music genre in their quest for stardom. They’re willing to do whatever it takes to make it big, including performing polka versions of songs by artists such as Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga. Based in Cleveland, the group was co-founded by front man, 27-year-old Jake Kouwe and his best friend and sousaphone/bass player, Paul ‘The Weird One’ Coates. Polka Kings is produced by High Noon Entertainment, with Jim Berger, Scott Feeley and Patrick Jager serving as executive producers. Production is set to begin this spring.
