Erinn HayesGuys With Kids and Childrens Hospital co-star Erinn Hayes will play the female lead in NBC‘s comedy pilot Holding Patterns. She replaces Chyler Leigh who was originally cast in the role. Holding Patterns is an ensemble multi-camera comedy about a group of friends whose lives completely change after they survive a plane crash, caused by Leah (Hayes) ruining Griffin’s (Humphrey Ker) proposal dinner. For Hayes, the casting is in second position to Guys With Kids, which is at the same network and studio, NBC/Universal TV. Because of her relationship with NBC and Uni TV, Hayes was asked to step in for Leigh, who was out of town and under the weather, for the pilot’s table read. Ultimately, during rehearsals, NBC brass concluded that Leigh is not how they envisioned the Leah character. This is the second recasting on Holding Patterns, which also replaced Robert Buckley with Nelson Franklin. Hayes, repped by UTA and manager David Sweeney, will next be seen in indie It’s A Disaster.

Up All Night co-star Luka Jones has been cast in NBC’s comedy pilot Holding Patterns, an ensemble multi-camera comedy about a group of friends whose lives completely change after they survive a plane crash, caused by Leah (Chyler Leigh) ruining Griffin’s (Humphrey Ker) proposal dinner. Jones, repped by WME and 3 Arts, plays Leah’s brother Luke. He previously played the male lead on NBC’s BFF and will next be seen in Spike Jonze’s Her. Holding Patterns also has open the role of Chad, which is being recast.

Tonita Castro, who recurs on another NBC comedy series, freshman Go On, has been added to Dads, Fox‘s six-episode multi-camera comedy series from Ted‘s Alec Sulkin, Wellesley Wild and Seth MacFarlane. It centers on two successful guys in their 30s, Eli and Warner (Tommy Dewey), who have their lives turned upside down when their nightmare dads (Martin Mull, Peter Riegert) unexpectedly move in with them. Castro, repped by the Corsa Agency and the Alvarado Rey Agency, plays Eli’s maid, Edna, a hard-drinking, outspoken woman whose mastery of English is quite modest but she always manages to make her caustic opinions understood.

NBC Comedy Pilot ‘Holding Patterns’ Recasts Role

666 Park Avenue alum Robert Buckley has exited NBC’s comedy pilot Holding Patterns after the table read. The project, from writer Justin Spitzer, Peter Traugott’s TBD Prods and Universal TV, is an ensemble multi-camera comedy about a group of friends whose lives completely change after they survive a plane crash. Buckley was to play one of them, Chad, Griffin’s (Humphrey Ker) and Leah’s (Chyler Leigh) arrogant, misogynistic friend, now a successful chick-lit author who returns home for the wedding. I hear among the reasons for Buckley’s departure was the fact that when the cast got together for the table read, it became apparent that Buckley looks a lot like Ker, while the producers have been looking for a more dramatic differentiation between the two characters. Buckley is the latest actor to leave a pilot this season as the networks rush to cast some 100 pilots within six weeks.

Meghan Ory To Star In CBS’ ‘Intelligence’, Robert Buckley Cast In ‘Holding Patterns’

EXCLUSIVE: Once Upon A Time‘s Meghan Ory has been cast as the female lead opposite Josh Holloway in CBS’ drama pilot Intelligence, which co-stars Marg Helgenberger. Also joining the pilot, created/executive produced by Michael Seitzman, exec produced by Rene Echevarria and Tripp Vinson and directed/exec produced by David Semel, is P.J. Byrne. For Ory, who is a regular on Once, Intelligence is in first position. Both Once and Intelligence are produced by ABC Studios, which allowed the flexibility. After recurring heavily on Season 1 of Once, Ory was promoted to regular in part because of interest for pilots she received last season. Her character Ruby has not been as prominently featured in this season’s storylines as it was last season. Intelligence is centered at U.S. Cyber Command and focuses on a unit that has been created around one agent (Holloway) with a very special gift — a microchip has been implanted in his brain that allows him to access the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Ory, repped by Gersh and Canada’s Pacific Artists, will play Riley O’Neil, an ex Secret Service taking on the challenge of protecting the nation’s top intelligence asset. Read More »
