EXCLUSIVE: I hear TBS is close to giving a series order to hourlong pilot The Wedding Band starring Brian Austin Green, Peter Cambor and Harold Perrineau. I also hear that the network’s other two one-hour pilots, Ron Shelton’s Hound Dogs and the Dean Devlin-produced Brain Trust, are not going forward. Along with the broadcast networks, TNT and TBS are also prepping for their upfront presentation next week. TBS is expected to officially unveil The Wedding Band at the Turner presentation Wednesday.

The Wedding Band, from writers and executive producers Josh Lobis and Darin Moiselle (South Park), FremantleMedia and Mike Tollin’s Tollin Prods., follows a group of guys performing in a wedding band, anchored by two lifelong best friends — perennial bachelor Tommy (Brian Austin Green) and Eddie (Peter Cambor), a married father of two. Co-starring in the pilot are Lost alum Perrineau, Kathryn Fiore, Jenny Wade and Derek Miller. TBS first got in the hourlong comedy genre last year with four pilots, two of which, Glory Daze and Franklin & Bash, went to series. Glory Daze ran for one season, while Franklin & Bash moved to TNT and will premiere June 1.

Additionally, Polo also booked the lead in the Hallmark comedic movie A Taste of Romance. The Little Fockers co-star recurs on Law & Order: Los Angeles, just wrapped the feature Beyond and is in pre-production on Material Lies.

Saturday Night Live alum Darrell Hammond is in negotiations to join the TBS pilot Hound Dogs, written and directed by Ron Shelton. Set in the world of minor league baseball, the project, which has moved from Sony TV to Warner Horizon, centers on minor league team the Nashville Hound Dogs and its endlessly upbeat general manager (Tom Verica), a gambling addict trying to outrun his past, as they try to handle life’s ups and downs, both in and out of the locker room. PILOT CASTINGS: Eliza Dushku Exits ‘Bird Dog’, Ricky Schroder Joins ‘Meet Jane’

Nellie Andreeva

That was quick: Eliza Dushku has pulled out of TNT’s drama pilot Bird Dog. I hear she exited the project over the weekend, several days after she closed a deal to star in the drama, a mystery fashioned around an unlikely partnership of a father-daughter cop duo.

Meanwhile, NYPD Blue and 24 alum Ricky Schroder has signed on to star opposite Molly Parker in the Lifetime pilot Meet Jane. The project, from Warner Horizon, centers on Jane Bilinski (Parker) whose stale life as an unhappily married mother of two daughters in the Washington, DC area is suddenly re-energized and empowered when the FBI enlists her to spy on her husband (Schroder), a computer technician the government suspects is selling top-secret information to Russia.
