After months of complete silence on the In Living Color special Fox ordered more than a year ago, the writing was on the wall, and today Fox chairman Kevin Reilly made the decision official. “It’s not gonna happen,” he said during the network’s executive session at TCA. “(The original) was a seminal show for Fox, and the bar was set at that level.” Reilly left the door open to potentially doing an In Living Color reboot “but not the one we shot.”
Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Laura Prepon and Wilmer Valderrama from That ’70s Show have joined the lineup of talent for the Fox network’s 25th Anniversary Special. Also joining the show are Keenen Ivory Wayans, Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans from In Living Color. Memorable clips will accompany stars talking about their experiences. Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Ryan Seacrest and Steven Tyler will chime in for American Idol, and Fox dramatic veteran Kiefer Sutherland will represent 24 and Touch. Seth MacFarlane from Family Guy, The Cleveland Show and American Dad will also spice up the festivities. Fox’s 25th Anniversary Special, which will air 8PM-10PM (ET/PT) Sunday April 22, is exec produced by Don Mischer and Charlie Haykel. Juliane Hare serves as producer and Louis J. Horvitz is directing. Hosts have yet to be announced, and more talent yet to come.
