Tyne Daly & Missi Pyle To Co-Star In CBS Comedy Pilot ‘Jacked Up’

EXCLUSIVE: Cagney & Lacey and Judging Amy star Tyne Daly is back at CBS with a co-starring role opposite Patrick Warburton in the network’s comedy pilot Jacked Up. Also joining the Sony TV project, written by Greg Malins and directed by Fred Savage, is The Artist‘s Missi Pyle. Jacked Up centers on Jack (Warburton), a beloved, recently retired baseball player who sets out to find a new purpose in life…starting with finding a wife with the help of his energetic and lovable best friend Barry (Rob Huebel). Daly, repped by Anonymous Content, will play Jack’s mother. She recently wrapped a starring turn on Broadway and the West End in Master Class. Pyle will plat Jack’s sister.

Rob Huebel Boards CBS Pilot ‘Jacked Up’, Griffin Newman To Star In Unt. John Mulaney

Childrens Hospital‘s Rob Huebel is set to star opposite Patrick Warburton in CBS/Sony TV’s comedy pilot Jacked Up. Written by Greg Malins and directed by Fred Savage, it centers on Jack (Warburton), a beloved, recently retired baseball player who sets out to find a new purpose in life…starting with finding a wife with the help of his energetic and lovable best friend Barry (Huebel), the divorced owner of the local sports bar. This marks the second pilot for Huebel, repped by UTA, Principato-Young and Karl Austen. He also has a guest star/potential recurring role in ABC’s comedy Bad Management. On the feature side, he starred in Hell Baby, which premiered at Sundance and was sold to Millennium Entertainment.

Stand-up comedian Griffin Newman is set as a lead opposite another comedian, John Mulaney, in Mulaney’s untitled multi-camera NBC comedy pilot, from Lorne Michaels, 3 Arts and Universal TV. Written/exec produced by Mulaney and exec produced by 30 Rock‘s Robert Carlock, the project  is a young ensemble loosely based on Mulaney’s life. It centers on John (Mulaney), whose naïve, and often pointless, desire to “be a good person” challenges his friendship with his roommates Jane and Seymour (Newman), a weird genius in the body of a dustbowl child. Ricardo Chavira To Star In NBC’s ‘Welcome To The Family’, ‘Jacked Up’ Adds Actress

Desperate Housewives Ricardo Chavira is set as a lead opposite Mike O’Malley and Mary McCormack in Welcome To The Family, NBC‘s single-camera comedy from Mike Sikowitz and Sony TV. It chronicles how cultures collide when a white family and a Latino family are bonded together by their children who fall in love followed quickly by an unplanned pregnancy. Chavira, repped by Innovative and Gordon Gilbertson, will play the divorced Latino father of the boy who got O’Malley and McCormack’s daughter pregnant – an ex-convict who has turned his life around.
Ziah Colon (Footloose) has booked a co-starring role opposite Patrick Warburton in CBS/Sony TV’s comedy pilot Jacked Up. Written by Greg Malins and directed by Fred Savage, it centers on Jack (Warburton) a beloved, recently retired baseball player who finds that adjusting to retirement isn’t as easy as he thought it’d be. Colon, repped by Bold Management and Chad Christopher, will play Myra, Jack’s recently hired housekeeper. Having lived life on the road for 20 years, Jack doesn’t know how to lead a normal life, so he often asks for Myra’s insight and advice.
