APA recently signed Lucas Till, who plays the mutant Havoc in Fox’s upcoming X-Men: First Class, after every major agency was actively courting him. Because Young Hollywood is where the buzz is these days at tenpercenteries. Till will be repped at APA by Jim Osborne, who was the kid’s agent at Paradigm, too. Also following Osborne to APA has been Thomas Kretschmann and Gary Oldman. UPDATE: Meanwhile, Paradigm has lost to other agencies recently Taraji Henson, Mariska Hargitay, Liv Tyler, Scott Foley and Jenny McCarthy.
UPDATE: Chris Highland has joined Paradigm as a talent agent in the New York office beginning today after he exited Gersh’s Big Apple office. At Gersh, he repped Victor Garber, Josh Hamilton, and Monica Raymond among others, but it’s not clear who’ll follow him. Meanwhile, Jim Osborne, formerly of Paradigm, has landed at APA. He took clients Gary Oldman and Michael Clark Duncan with him.
I’ve been given the following statement from Paradigm: “We have mutually parted ways with Jim Osborne. Jim will work closely with the agency and the clients he was responsible for during the transition and beyond.” Hmm, do you think the move follows Friday’s departure of client Hayden Christensen for UTA and Osbourne’s volunteering the following reaction to me? ”He wouldn’t read for Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter, he passed on Afterlife opposed Liam Neeson, he passed on Cheri opposite Michelle Pfeiffer. It’s so competitive for young actors right now that sitting on a farm in Toronto is not going to get him a job.” Osbourne had repped the actor long term at ICM and Paradigm until Christensen moved internally to David Guillod five months ago.
