Kesha & Ludacris Join Brad Paisley As Judges On ABC’s ‘Rising Star’, Josh Groban To Host

ludacriskeshaABC has assembled the talent for its singing competition Rising Star. Joining country singer Brad Paisley on the judging panel — called panel of experts — are pop star Kesha and hip hop artist/actor Ludacris. Singer Josh Groban, who has done guest appearances on several scripted series, will serve as host. The four will appear together Sunday at the 2014 grobanBillboard Music Awards on ABC, which Ludacris is hosting. Based on the Israeli format, Rising Star comes from Keshet DCP — a joint venture between DC Media, parent of dick clark prods., which produces the Billboard Music Awards — and Keshet International.

Premiering on June 22, Rising Star is a live talent show that incorporates real-time voting by viewers via an app. Contestants are separated from the studio audience and the judges by a translucent floor-to-ceiling LED Rising-Star-Key-Imagelogo-1screen where images of voters at home appear live, and the singer can see how the vote tally is growing during the performance. David Letterman, Kathie Lee Gifford Among Guests During Regis’ Final Week On ‘Live!’

With Regis Philbin set to depart Live! With Regis and Kelly on November 18, the show has booked “some of Philbin’s favorite guests and friends” for his final week. They include Philbin’s former co-host Kathie Lee Gifford (November 17), fellow talk-show hosts David Letterman (November 16) and Jimmy Fallon (November 14) as well as Donald Trump (November 15) and Don Rickles (November 14). In addition, each day there will be a special musical tribute featuring singers such as Tony Bennett, Bret Michaels and Josh Groban. Philbin’s last show is being billed as an hourlong tribute commemorating his nearly three decades on Live!.

Josh Groban To Play Ed Helms’ Brother On ‘The Office’

EXCLUSIVE: Will we see a duet performance by the Bernard brothers on The Office this coming season? Crooner Josh Groban has been tapped to play the brother of Ed Helms’ character Andy Bernard on the long-running NBC comedy series. This is the latest member of the Bernard clan to be cast as the network just cast Stephen Collins and Dee Wallace as Andy’s parents. This marks Groban’s first major TV acting stint since his star-making turn on Ally McBeal 10 years ago. (He has done a couple of voice over gigs on animated comedies and he also appeared on Glee but as himself, not playing a character.) It comes on the heels of his first movie role in this summer’s comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love., where he co-starred alongside former Office leading man Steve Carell.
