Michelle Trachtenberg is set to co-star opposite Maggie Lawson in CBS’ half-hour hybrid pilot Save The Date. Also cast in the romantic comedy from writers Jackie and Jeff Filgo, ABC Studios and CBS Studios, are Tom Bennett and Julie White. Save The Date centers on 35-year-old and newly single Kate (Lawson), who drunkenly books a wedding venue and now is faced with the task of meeting the right man in time. Trachtenberg will play Hillary, Katie’s buttoned-down, no-nonsense sister who is sharing an apartment with her. Bennett plays Roger, Hillary’s boyfriend of four years. White plays Connie, Katie and Hillary’s mother. Trachtenberg, repped by UTA and Framework Entertainment, most recently played Marina Oswald in National Geographic’s Killing Kennedy.

EXCLUSIVE: After fielding several offers, Julie White (Transformers) has become the first actor cast in NBC’s comedy pilot Go On, written by Friends alum Scott Silveri, who is exec producing with Karey Burke and the pilot’s director Todd Holland. The single-camera project centers on an irreverent yet charming sportscaster who tries to move on from loss and finds solace among the members of his mandatory group therapy sessions. Tony-winner White will play Anne, a feisty and recently widowed woman stuck in the anger stage of grief. The actress, repped by Paradigm and Himber Entertainment, recently completed filming Steven Speilberg’s feature about Abraham Lincoln.
Former Greek star Scott Michael Foster has been cast in ABC’s drama pilot Zero Hour. The ABC Studios project centers on a man who, after spending 20 years as the editor of a skeptics magazine, becomes involved in one the most compelling conspiracies in human history. Foster’s casting stems from his talent holding deal with ABC. He will play a member of the Modern Skeptic magazine staff.
Writer-comedian Ed Weeks has landed a lead in Mindy Kaling’s Fox single-camera comedy pilot, in which she stars as a young Bridget Jones-type Ob/Gyn balancing personal and professional life, surrounded by quirky co-workers in a small office. Weeks will play a hot doctor who is a complete flirt and a ladies man.
Izabela Vidovic has been cast as Nick (John Stamos) and Katie’s (Gillian Vigman) 10-year daughter in Fox’s comedy pilot Little Brother.
Bonnie Somerville (Cashmere Mafia) has been cast as the female lead in ABC’s comedy pilot Other People’s Kids. Johnny Sneed (Unhitched) has also been cast in in the pilot, which centers on Adam, a 32-year-old guy with no responsibilities who suddenly finds himself with an insta-family when he falls in love with the little older Michelle (Somerville) who has 2 kids, an ex-husband (Sneed), and ex-in-laws.
Julie White has joined the ABC multi-camera comedy pilot Smothered, from Andrew Reich and Ted Cohen. The project centers on young couple Zack (Kyle Howard) and Gillian who find themselves smothered by their two very different sets of parents. White will play Gillian’s scrappy mom who is a real mother hen. The Tony winner, repped by Paradigm and Himber Entertainment, will next be seen recurring on Damages and in Transformers 3.
Beverly D’Angelo has joined NBC’s untitled Whitney Cummings comedy pilot. The project, written by Cummings, centers on young couple Whitney (Cummings) and Alex (Chris D’Elia) who tackle the ups and downs of a committed relationship in today’s complicated world. D’Angelo will play Whitney’s self-absorbed, damaged and cynical, thrice-divorced mother.
