EXCLUSIVE: Kevin Alejandro is set as a regular opposite Mark Pellegrino in Carlton Cuse’s 10-episode A&E drama series The Returned. Also co-starring in the project, an adaptation of the acclaimed French series, are Once Upon a Time in Wonderland star Sophie Lowe and Mat Vairo (Revolution). Keith Gordon (Dexter) will direct. The Returned, from A+E Studios and FremantleMedia, focuses on a small town that is turned upside down when several local people who have been long presumed dead suddenly reappear, bringing with them both positive and detrimental consequences. Alejandro will play the town’s authoritative but accessible Sheriff Tommy Moran. Lowe plays Lena, one of Jack’s (Pellegrino) two daughters. Vairo plays one of the returned, Simon, a musician who comes back 10 years after his death. Alejandro, repped by Gersh and Main Title, was a regular on True Blood, Southland and Golden Boy. Vairo is with Gersh, Gartner/Green and Mitch Smelkinson.
Southland and True Blood alum Kevin Alejandro has been cast in ABC‘s drama pilot Clementine, from the Mark Gordon Co. and ABC Studios. It centers on troubled 28-year-old psychic Clementine Ross (Sarah Snook) who sees her life begin to change in unexpected ways when she decides to stop running from her past. Alejandro will play Charlie Madsen, Clementine’s ex-boyfriend and father to her young daughter, Lucy, a former bad-boy who transformed into a responsible man when he realized he was going to have to raise Lucy on his own due to Clementine’s personal struggles. Alejandro, repped by Main Title and Gersh, has been recurring on the CW’s Arrow and previously co-starred on CBS’ Golden Boy.
The news was announced at the CW superhero drama’s Comic-Con panel today, when the network showed a sneak peek (see below) of Season 2, which premieres October 9.

(July 20, 2013) — Oliver Queen (series star Stephen Amell) will have his work cut out for him when he returns to Starling City on October 9 for the second season of The CW’s #1 series Arrow (Wednesdays 8/7c). At today’s Comic-Con panel session in Ballroom 20, fans learned of two new DC Comics characters coming to Starling City — Bronze Tiger and Sebastian Blood. Executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg revealed that Michael Jai White (Spawn, The Dark Knight, Mortal Kombat) will guest star as Bronze Tiger, while Kevin Alejandro (Southland, True Blood, Golden Boy) will appear as Sebastian Blood in upcoming episodes of the acclaimed action drama’s second season (airdates to be announced).
EXCLUSIVE: Hot young actor Max Thieriot has landed the lead in ABC’s untitled Roland Emmerich drama pilot, from ABC Studios and the Mark Gordon Co. Written by Emmerich and Harold Kloser and to be directed by Emmerich, the project centers on Carter (Thieriot), an astrophysics grad student in NYC who learns that he is the chosen one to destroy the forces of evil. Also cast in the pilot is Gabriella Wilde (ICM, UK’s Tavistock Wood) as Carter’s girlfriend. Thieriot, repped by Gersh and attorney Scott Whitehead, recently wrapped features Disconnect and Foreverland and will next be seen in House At The End Of The Street.
No Ordinary Family alumna Autumn Reeser is back at ABC. The actress has joined the cast of the network’s drama pilot Last Resort starring Andre Braugher. The Sony TV-produced project centers on the crew of the USS Nevada, a nuclear submarine, that becomes fugitives after disobeying a suspicious order. They land on the island of Sainte Marina, where they take over the NATO Listening Station and declare themselves an independent nuclear nation. Reeser, repped by Gersh and KLWGN, will play Kylie, a charming lobbyist for her family’s weapons manufacturing company.
TNT has set its fall/winter schedule, which includes the continuation of the current seasons of The Closer, Rizzoli & Isles and Leverage, which all return with new episodes on Nov. 27/Nov. 28; the new season of Southland, which will kick off in January; and the first installment of the network’s new original movie franchise TNT Mystery Movie Night, which will debut Nov. 29. In the scheduling release, TNT also announces additional castings on several of its movies, including Alfred Molina joining Scott Turow’s Innocent, Dermot Mulroney tapped to star in Silent Witness, and Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Kevin Alejandro coming on board Hide. PREVIOUS EXCLUSIVE 5 PM: Law & Order: SVU is going younger with its new male lead. I hear that Dick Wolf and NBC have narrowed the search for an actor to replace departing Chris Meloni to four actors – Danny Pino (Cold Case), Kevin Alejandro (True Blood, Southland), David Conrad (Ghost Whisperer) and Michael Raymond-James (Terriers). The four are being flown to New York where they will test tomorrow opposite returning SVU star Mariska Hargitay. Of the four, Alejandro and Raymond-James recently did guest spots on SVU. New NBC boss Bob Greenblatt said in May that the network “wants to keep refreshing an old franchise” with its changes to the veteran crime procedural. Hargitay, who recently adopted a baby, had asked for a lighter work schedule, so her character Det. Olivia Benson will be less prominent in the second half of next season, prompting the network and creator/executive producer Wolf to also look for a possible new female lead. …
