EXCLUSIVE: Top Israeli broadcaster Keshet, on whose format Showtime’s Emmy-winning drama Homeland is based, has added to a strong broadcast selling season with Mother’s Day, a comedy project at CBS based on an Israeli series. Smash co-executive producers Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky will write the adaptation. It centers on 40-year-old Ella who, in order to successfully navigate through the demanding life of being a mother of three, a lover, a friend and a career woman, constantly lies her way out of and into situations — little lies, big lies, white and at times not-so-white lies.
The original series, which premiered on Keshet’s Channel 2 in August, was created by Daniela London-Dekel and Dana Eden, written by London-Dekel and produced by Eden’s Eden Prods. Sharon Stone is celebrating Mother’s Day. She joins Andie MacDowell and her real-life daughter Rainey Qualley, who were announced yesterday, in the indie drama about the relationship between 12 mothers and their daughters. Previously announced cast members include Susan Sarandon and her real-life daughter Evan Amurri Martino as well as Christina Ricci. Mother’s Day will be directed by Paul Duddridge, who also wrote the screenplay. Danielle James is producing. Stone is repped by Paradigm and Binder & Associates.

Susan Sarandon and her daughter Eva Amurri Martino have joined the cast of Mother’s Day. The indie drama follows 12 sets of Mothers and daughters over the course of a single Mother’s Day. Sarandon and Martino are the first cast announced. Paul Duddridge, who also wrote the screenplay, will direct Mother’s Day. Danielle James is producing. Martino played Sarandon’s daughter in 2002′s The Banger Sisters and a younger version of her mother in 1995′s Dead Man Walking. Martino is repped by Paradigm and One Talent Management. Sarandon is repped by ICM.
