Emmy-winning series Modern Family makes its cable debut on USA Network on September 24 at 8 PM. The first four seasons will air five nights a week: Tuesday-Friday 8-9 PM, Tuesdays 9-11 PM, Fridays 9-10 PM, and Sundays 9-11 PM. NCIS: Los Angeles kicks off Monday, September 23 and airs four nights a week: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays at 7 PM, Wednesdays from 9-11 PM, Thursdays at 7 PM and 11 PM. Original dramas White Collar and Covert Affairs return on Thursday October 17 with the Season 5 premiere of White Collar at 9 PM followed by the first of the final six episodes of Covert Affairs‘ Season 4 at 10 PM. USA also will air a special holiday season reality series event, It Takes A Choir (fka The Choir), on Sundays at 8 PM beginning November 3. Rounding out the holiday programming slate is two-hour special Psych: The Musical on Sunday, December 15 at 9 PM.
CBS today said it is moving its Big Brother eviction show from Tuesdays to Thursdays beginning July 11, meaning the long-running reality series will now be broadcast on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays this summer. The new night is not a coincidence: CBS now owns Thursdays and during the official TV season airs the one-two punch of The Big Bang Theory and Two And A Half Men in the first hour of primetime. Big Brother attracts those same younger-skewing demographics. With Big Brother in the timeslot this summer, CBS can promo the comedies during its reality competition series in the hour. The network today also shifted NCIS: Los Angeles and Person Of Interest to new time periods Tuesday nights this summer, starting July 9. That lines up the latter series, which is also moving to Tuesdays in the fall. Here’s the new schedule:
