FX Networks Executives Nick Grad, Eric Schrier & Chuck Saftler Get President Titles

On the heels of John Landgraf’s promotion to CEO of FX Networks; FX Prods., his top lieutenants are getting elevated to president level. Nick Grad and Eric Schrier have each been named President, Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Prods., where they will oversee all original programming for FX, FXX and FXM, and head business and entertainment operations for FX Prods. Chuck Saftler is being named President of Program Strategy and Chief Operating Officer of FX Networks and will have oversight of programming strategies including scheduling and acquisitions, program operations, business operations, and digital operations for FX, FXX, FXM, and the new video-on-demand app FXNOW working in conjunction with FX Digital Marketing. In addition, Saftler will oversee specials, including awards shows and continue to have creative and business oversight of 10/90 series. “Nick, Eric and Chuck have been involved in every facet of FX’s success over the past decade; it is only appropriate to see them each take on more responsibility as we pursue an ambitious expansion of our channels, programming and distribution platforms,” said Landgraf, to whom the trio will report. FX Renews ‘The League’ For Fourth Season

FX has picked up a fourth season of The League with a 13-episode order. The comedy series is hitting series-high ratings across the board in its current third season. It is averaging 1.7 million total viewers and 1.5 million adults 18-49, up 25% and 32, respectively, vs. Season 2. “The League continues to be one of our most successful comedy series both creatively and from a ratings standpoint,” said FX’s EVP Nick Grad. “(Creators) Jackie and Jeff Schaffer, along with our terrific cast, are doing wonderful work each week to make one of the funniest shows on television and we’re excited to order another season.” There are three episodes left in its current season: Episode 11, The Guest Bong, airs Thursday at 10:30 PM.

FX Orders Additional Episode Of ‘SOA’

FX is extending the current fourth season of flagship drama Sons Of Anarchy, the highest-rated yet for the biker series, with a pickup of one additional episode. That will bring the total fourth season order to the Kurt Sutter-created SOA to 14 episodes. The series’ Season 4 finale will now air on December 6. “Creatively, this has been Sons’ best and biggest season ever,” said FX’s EVP original programming Nick Grad. “Kurt asked us to consider adding an extra episode to fully close this current chapter of the Sons saga. By adding the extra episode, it wraps up a magnificent season in extraordinary fashion. This is a real bonus for fans of the series.”
