It looks like MTV’s Jersey Shore spinoff starring Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley has found a place to shoot after being turned down last week by Hoboken”s film commission. Jersey City, N.J, has issued a permit for the show, which is expected to begin lensing this month. Hoboken’s film commission had denied the request, citing safety and quality of life concerns for a shoot that asked for a 24-hour filming permit to follow the pair around. Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy said he believes the spinoff will help promote the city.

Like before any other cycle of MTV’s Jersey Shore, there has been speculation that several stars, including Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio, are holding off on signing contracts in pursuit of more money. “We do have deals with all Jersey Shore cast members, and we are looking to begin production next month,” MTV’s EVP of programming and head of production Chris Linn said. He also dismissed rumors that production on the upcoming Season 4 of Jersey Shore in Italy has been delayed. “We are on schedule,” he said, adding that the producers are working on appropriate housing and accommodation for the cast, something that is expected to be be finalized soon.

Both shows will chronicle the lives the three Jersey Shore standouts lead away from the mothership series. The pickups come on the heels of reports that production on the fourth season of Jersey Shore is being delayed by a month because of contract issues with some cast members and resistance from some establishments in Italy, where the show is slated to film. Since Snooki, JWoww and Pauly were among those rumored to be holding off for better terms, getting new shows may be the sweetening of the pot they needed to sign their Jersey deals.
