Linkin Park’s Joe Hahn Inks Distribution Deal On Directorial Debut ‘Mall’EXCLUSIVE: His songs have appeared in films from Transformers to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Now Linkin Park’s Joseph Hahn has tried so hard, and got so far that he’s made the jump from the recording studio to the director’s chair. Paragon Pictures has picked up North American rights to Hahn’s feature helming debut Mall, which stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Gina Gershon, Cameron Monaghan, Peter Stormare, and James Frecheville in the story of five disaffected suburbanites whose lives come together at a shopping mall following a seemingly random shooting.

mall-movieHahn serves as beat master for Grammy-winning rock band Linkin Park and directed dozens of its music videos prior to making his feature debut. D’Onofrio, Joe Vinciguerra, and Sam Bisbee adapted the script from Eric Bogosian’s 2001 novel. Mall is produced by D’Onofrio alongside Sam Maydew for Silver Lining Entertainment. Hahn most recently directed the music video for “New Divide,” the Linkin Park track that appears in Michael Bay’s Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, and the band’s latest music video, for “Until It’s Gone” from its current album The Hunting Party. Osiris/Paragon Taps Distribution Vet Kyle Villella For Film & TV Post

EXCLUSIVE: Kyle Villella, most recently VP Theatrical Distribution Operations at LD Entertainment, has been appointed to head the expanding film and TV sales and distribution division at indie Paragon Pictures. It’s the last ramp-up for Paragon, the specialty distribution arm of Osiris Entertainment that kicked off its theatrical business in February with ParagonPicturesthe platform release of the Melissa Leo starrer Bottled Up, a drama about over-the-counter drug abuse that also stars Josh Hamilton. The company formally launched in September with Osiris CEO Evan Crooke at the helm, and its other titles include the thrillers The Kill Hole starring Chadwick Boseman and UK pic Twenty8K. Villella previously worked at Lionsgate, Paramount, The Weinstein Company and most recently LD, where he helped sell the Matthew McConaughey pic Killer Joe, Disconnect and Black Rock.
